dedicated envelope stompbox/tabletop device

Something I've always wondered: If I wanted something that just did envelopes (i.e. no filters or other effect), with 0-5 cv and/or expression out, tabletop/stompbox format, what are my options?

I use a crash pad as a volume/filter envelope for external audio. The CV in is for filter cut off though, you have to turn the on body knobs to adjust filter/level decay time. Also not ADSR it's just R really.

I asked adam from copilot fx to make something exactly like that he quoted me $130 including shipping. build time a month.

I might have something cooking up in this realm soon. I've also heard that Adventure Audio/Electromagnetic Witchcraft are working on a similar interface.

How soon is soon? I assume this isn't in the not-too-distant future?

I kinda need to finish my rig. It has been a long time coming, so I don't really want to wait too long for things to come out to complete it.

The last essential thing I need (DOOM) about 7-9 weeks away - also getting mods from chase bliss that'll probably take that long to complete (they gotta ship overseas). And I got a patch-bay/splitter/merger/switcher thingy being made for me in roughly that time. It'd nice to also have this thing organized when all of these pieces are coming together, if possible. So that's the time-frame I'm trying to aim for (couple months at the latest, ideally).

Can you gimme some idea of the features you plan for it?

Any idea how long it'll be until AA releases their one?

Hahah no definite timeline on my end - still figuring out the intricacies of envelope following, but I'm gonna ask Brian about it tomorrow night when my band opens up for Cymbals Eat Guitars. Given my current pace I wouldn't count on anything happening in the next couple weeks, but maybe a month or two. And I'm just not sure about the AA. It might be implemented on their new pedal (not the Power Couple, but the weird 7-knob/6switch thing that they didn't finish in time for NAMM), because I definitely saw some pads for CV jacks on the PCB they teased on instagram. I assume we'll be hearing more about that within the next month.
As far as my idea goes though, I was thinking something that's super small form factor, basically just in/out and a couple of sensitivity/range controls. It'd basically just output a buffered version of your input signal and have a CV output with switching from 0-5V or 0-10V (maybe invertable?)
