Built By Ryan is one of the best builders out there. I have bought probably about 13 of his pedals by now. Not the prettiest graphics out there, no bullshit bearded hipster chic marketing tools about "artisinal batches of locally curated tone", no fluff and no bs. Just raw pure tone for days and extremely well-built boxes by a dude who clearly loves what he is doing. Bassists should particularly perk up because he is selling Darkglass killers pretty cheaply. The one in the video below I just bought and it kicked my Alpha Omega off the board.

Anyhow, this dude deserves a hell of a lot more attention than he gets so I figured I'd pump him a little bit.

Just wondering if he has any original circuit designs though.

Wassup Chank. Well, great question. The one in the vid above is original, although like a lot of other pedals it has its pedigree in the red llama, B3K world. I think he actually does that with a lot of his pedals....takes a platform and then makes it his own. He does straight up clones too, but I think this dude is actually cooking up a lot of original ideas too. If he had beautiful graphics on his pedals I think they would sell for 3 times as much.

Haha. I was wondering this as well. BM is so heavy-handed with making sure to check certain boxes, that I can't really accept him as anything more than a caricature. Although really lots of people could pull off the BM schtick.

Although I'm much more into traditional sounds out of my pedals, if you're looking for an arcadiator BBR is probably one of the best builders of it out there. Take a chance on it.

If I ever buy something "boutique" that I can't build, it will be a Ryan's pedal (or some Canadian stuff), dude seems to have a very chill and humble type of business model, kinda weird these days of pretentious builders.

I love you dude! Lol. You're so right. The dude even sends knitted wool hats his mom makes with his orders sometimes. Just a totally cool dude. Very open to accepting offers too. I just feel with all the right he's done by me over the last year that I should return the favor and hype him up a little bit.

Thanks Chank. With this ancient forum platform I can't seem to figure out how to embed anything. If you have any suggestions and time please let me know how.
