Man the doom movement was really disappointing.

Anybody else feel this way? I was really excited in like 2004 because people were really getting into some cool shit. Kraut was getting popular and people were talking about Can and Hawkwind finally started getting the recognition they deserved. Here we are almost 15 years later and all i get are a bunch of riffturds and thin lizzy ripoffs. Asva was kinda cool alright but where are all my spaceship musics. Electric wizard are losers. How the fuck are you going to do all those drugs you supposedly do and come up with the garbage you put out?

Honestly Morgion put this album out almost 20 years ago and if you want to be in a heavy band now and you cant even attempt something along these lines im pretty sure fuck you.

Cosigned heavily.

Check out Terminal Cheesecake, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, Blown Out, Khunnt, and some others. Basically UK heavy psych bands are the only interesting thing in Doom at the moment for me.

Dude yeah for real. Them and theologian and all the other stuff the navcon guy does are taking noise and industrial self hatred to the point of the symphony.

Gnaw is unreal. I can't just put one of their albums on. I know it's going to be like a NASCAR driver fighting G-Force if I listen to them. It takes a lot out of me in the best way. Regarding 'Industrial Self Hatred'...Gnaw reminds me a lot of BRIGHTER DEATH NOW (even though they do not sound the same). Some parallels I guess?

There is something so hopeless in Popul Vuh's soundtrack for AQUIRE: THE WRATH OF GOD. That's what got me into them. I love that stuff and agree with you on TANGERINE DREAM.
Disagree to some extent on ELECTRIC WIZARD. "Come My Fanatics" is a masterpiece. I strongly dislike the later albums that too much like BLACK SABBATH.

Best doom show I saw was in London. It was that supergroup with a guy from St. Vitus, Al Cisneros from SLEEP, and Dale Crover from THE MELVINS. Not doom but WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM opened (before people bandwagoned on their hipster witch hunt).
If I may ask, what general region did you move to? I love the UK.

Woah yeah totally. I really wanted to go see them when they did the DEUTSCH NEPAL "us tour that only came to the northeast".

The general region with all the gay bars.

The big city in the south that everyone who doesn't live there hates.

Also, saw GtT at Roadburn. Excellent show. He also did noise and electronics for Ortega on the first day. Both sets were fantastic.
