Modulated Reverb? Also, BitQuest Questions.

I've got the itch for a modulated reverb, but I don't like the shimmer thing even a little bit. I've liked essentially everything I've heard of the Supermoon and variations. But, I've seen the BitQuest verb compared to the Supermoon on a couple of occasions, and was curious if any of you lot had some first hand opinions about this.
Other non-shimmery verbs that I should be looking at? Afterneath? Dark Star (or whatever the OBNE is called)?
The BitQuest checks a lot of boxes for stuff I'd not use a ton as well, which complicates the comparison...but might as well ask those questions too. Can the clean flange get fat and chorus-y ala BF-2, or super vocal like the ADA or Arion? Can the ring mod get slow enough for a passable tremolo? Does the fuzzy bitcrusher sound like all of my favorite SNES games?

Going by memory, the BitQuest can sorta do the Supermoon's sway modulation. The BQ's verb also has a wider range (mix, decay, mod) than the regular Supermoon. Both pretty much cover the same ground and you would probably be happy with either. If it has to be these two, Mr. Black does sales often and you could prolly snag a Supermoon at a gr8 price, m8. Oi!
I did not think the BQ's flanger compared at all to the BF-2's phatness and toanz, but it's a very decent flanger in its own right and could indeed cop a chorus-y vibe if set to do so. Too high atm to speak on the rest.

If you go supermoon go chrome.

The flange can self oscillate with positive or negative regen. It's rad.

Thanks. And I've changed the first post/title since I actually don't know if there are any others out there that would fit the bill. Recommendations?

Because of the increased decay?

Sounds all sorts of weird and fun.

Increased everything. I think you can get all the standard's sounds on the chrome, but not the other way around. I found the chrome from 9-11 o clock getting what the standard did 75% of the way up. Plus it looks way cooler.

Zoom MS-70CDR, $119 in the US---you can layer delays, modulation, reverb. It has reverb modes inspired by Eventide, Strymon, and the Line 6 particle reverb.
TC Electronic T2, $99 in the US during closeout weekends----this offers the most sounds for the money. I personally prefer this one over several other reverbs in the sub-$200 range.
Shiftline A+ Astronaut, $179---cavernous, extreme reverb settings. 8 modes (3 are unfortunately shimmer)
Meris Mercury 7, $299---has modulated plate and other sounds inspired by the old Eventide rack sounds.

Been thinking of modulated reverb for weeks...lot of delays doin wierd things these days, but I have not come across reverb that...idk flutter? I was thinkin a verb that is like a hall then decays into shimmer then releases into some arpeggio steps...

For real though.

I'm pretty tempted by the EQD Transmisser. The modulated filter thing seems pretty fun.

That's wrong actually. I was thinking Vangelis was using an Eventide H3000 for harmony and reverb effects (because everyone was using those in the 80s), but this article says he was using a Lexicon 224 for Blade Runner. It also states the H3000 was introduced in 1986, which would mean it couldn't have been available for Blade Runner in 1982.
The Lexicon 224 is an early digital reverb that was well known for its spacey, extra long decays. Again, Vangelis was an early pioneer of the extra long decays using this unit, most famously in the Blade Runner soundtrack.

I get inspired every time I hear Vangelis’s use of reverb on the original Blade Runner soundtrack. It never gets old. I designed the Mercury7’s algorithms to bring those same extra long decays and lush modulated reflections to the pedal world.

Thanks - I had an original Trinity for a bit...didn't much care for it, but didn't give it a ton of time, nor did I delve into the toneprint stuff. May be worth another look, especially at that price. I'll have to give the others a look.

Anytime. Also, I forgot to mention the Matthews Cosmonaut V1.5. That's a modulated reverb (not to be confused with the Astronomer). It's $199 new, so likely $140-170 used.

Alexander Skifi and Keeley Gold Star seem pretty cool.
