Personal Inventory

I have my health.
I have my parents.
I have my dog.
I have my car.
I have a refurbished laptop on the way.
I have my Strat.
I have an amp.
I have a Cloven Hoof on the way. Thankfully, the pedal I traded for it was boxed and in my trunk.
I have my Buzzz and Fuck Mountain to look forward to, when Brian's tour is over.
I have a cable and strap and picks.
I have hope.
I have a Gary Numan CD in my car.
I have faith.
I have friends.
I have a plan.

There will be more DD-3s in the future. I can draw and write again. Taking care of my wife and myself is more important.

Oddly enough, it was safest of all...

In my car.

Spent all day nauseous and vomiting. I must have accidentally ingested the pesticide gel I applied to the kitchen nooks and crannies. A wasted day

This is some really humbling optimism and positivity.
Long live Gary Numan.

Some days are easier than others. I'm thankful for that. She worked today and I cleaned up the house. I restringed my Strat with flatwounds, returned the Canyon to Guitar Center, and picked up a used Tera Echo. I'm listening to Kitchens of Distinction. I feel flat. Tomorrow, she works another 12 hour shift, so I will be 100% focused on job hunting. I need to have income, for both of our sake.

Being unemployed is not a full time job. It feels like a brand. I met my elderly neighbors' son yesterday. We had a nice conversation, but he asked what I do for a living. I'm in IT but currently looking for a position. It is a cloud that hangs over me. I spend hours each day hunting, but nothing ever happens. I got a call about a job but it turned out to be 2.5 hours away. Ugh.

It's tough, I retreated socially during a long bout of unemployent for the same reason, the stigma when the issue would come up was really embarrassing. It's hard not to take it personally even though many of the factors that determine our employment status are entirely out of our control. Best to spend some time with people who understand the difficulty of unemployment and who support you, if you can.

Yesterday was a good day. We had lunch with my dad and did some shopping. She was in high spirits. The evening was rough. She misses her mother and feels isolated in Kentucky. Today has been better.
