Microphones made from repurposed shotgun shells. Heard about them during an interview with clipping. Thoughts? Might grab one for fun.

When they first came out I remember reading the breakdown of their initial offering. Basically cheap mics with a premium for a cooler casing. Not sure if anything has changed as that was a while ago, and that is not necessarily a bad thing.
Good for flavor mics, not necessarily what you want as your mains. The price is good enough that it doesn't hurt to try them

I was low key wondering if it was all flash. TBH, for what I have in mind it might not be bad at all.

Here's the original gearslutz thread where the owner goes into a bit more detail. There are some drum samples on the second page by a 3rd party. Page 3 has a mix, but it is oddly compressed. He posted the multi too, not sure if it's unmixed though.
The mics are unbalanced electret capsules. So it may act a little funky on some pre's, but should be fine on most pre amps.
In the words of the maker,
Brad Martin wrote:I just hope folks accept them as what they are, $35 omni electrets that look like shotgun shells!

At first I thought it was gonna be a horrible price, but that's not bad.

maybe we should split a box set? $25 off 5 mics. i'd go for at least two of the blue condensers or maybe the red ones.

Again, cheap doesn't mean bad. And they are reasonably priced.

These are right up my alley. I was going to comment in the GAS thread yesterday; Thanks for posting BP! I was just thinking how I want more mics on my amp without spending a minimum of $100 per mic. Now I can get three mics for one SM 57.
