I dunno the amp but I'd say that was capacitors discharging at a guess, which may mean they need replacing, someone may know better though, just a thought.

If it is a one time thing, I would just ignore it.

If something is happening that is a serious problem, you'll have other warning signs.

Same thing happened with a Fender Princeton Chorus (or something like that) I played...

@ Scruffie: That's what I was thinking, but which ones? It does it no matter which channel it's on, so I figured something that it common between both sides. My only conclusion: filter caps.

 Don't cry, we'll get it fixed...

Well have you opened it up, any capacitors that look to be bulging or leaked would be a sure sign there's your problem, gut shots are useful if you can get some, but you may have to get out the debugging tools (have you got an multi meter?) and have a serious go at it or just replace all the electrolytics and hope it fixes it, if it is the problem (being as that it goes on after it's switched off, it's clearly a charge somewhere so I'd guess it's almost a sure bet)

bubstance wrote:Yeah, I opened it up earlier today to fix a broken pot, but it had been making the noise before that, so I know I didn't break it... there's so many freakin' electrolytics in there. I have a multimeter, but I seem to have misplaced it in my pile of pedal building shit.

I'm thinking of changing out those damned filter caps first and seeing if that fixes it, and then starting with... hell I don't know what. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Thanks for the help, though, Scruffie. Always a good pal. :)

No Worries dude, *cyber-five back* :)

As for my *Amp fix Five* it's quarter past four in the morning where I am but tommorow, if you send me a PM to remind me i'l try and gather you some info I have on fixing issues like yours in amps to see if you can pin point the problem... also see if I can find the schematic.

Good luck though! :thumb:

Yup sounds like filter caps so start with them.
When in doubt, they are the big ones.
