I'm thinking about mounting my Elektron modules/DI box/FX on a flat pedalboard for quick setups at gigs. I was thinking about getting a flat pedalboard in a case with a lift off lid.

I was thinking about doing that with my OTO Bam—I'd need some kind of loop switch to kick it on and off. Would you be stomping on yours, or more tabletop?

Tabletop. I was thinking of using a taller amp stand and placing the board on it.

Gut a rectangular guitar case and use that for your board/table.

i used to use a gutted turntable / mixer case for mine on a common keyboard stand.
heavy as hell, but already all set up like you're looking for.

(guitar case isn't deep enough for things like old drum machines.)

I have a Sleepdrone 5 at the beginning of my pedalboard. I use an A/B box to switch between it and my guitar.

Just get a decent keyboard stand to put your shit on. I'm currently using some kind of heavy-dutyish foldable two-tier stand with a Pedal Pad AXS II on the lower tier and a piece of wood on the upper tier. Lower tier has all of the pedals that I run in my mixer's aux loops & the upper tier has the mixer, tape deck, miscellaneous objects, etc.
Eventually I'll get a second, flat pedalboard for the top tier, but for now it's still portable & quick to set up/tear down at shows, so.

Also, jury's out on the AXS II. I'm not convinced these latches are going to last.

Re: gutted guitar case, this seems ideal for size/cost, but you'll have to replace the hinges if you don't want to hide behind it or just have the lid laying open, taking up space. That's what's stopping me from going that way, for now. If I was going to hunch on the floor like some kind of noise monster, I wouldn't worry about the hinges, but I'm not doing as much of that these days. I'm an upright citizen now.

If you just dremel the backs of the hinges off when the lid's closed, then you should be able to just pop the guitar case's lid off whenever you open it? This is definitely what I'm doing when I have the space to set my stuff up better.

∆∆ that's a great idea. If you do that, a guitar case is definitely the cheapest hard case of a decent size. Thanks for the pro tip.

Home improvement stores sell latches that look nearly identical to what is already on a guitar case. So remove the hinges and install latches. POOF. Done.

I've used a bunch of different things-Pedalpads are my favorite because of the courtesy outlet being mounted conveniently and with enough room to throw a bunch of power strips, wall warts, cables and other assorted bullshit underneath and keep it all protected. Basically any pedalboard that's the size you need will be an excellent solution honestly. Set it on top of a beefy scissor stand and you're ready to go. I'm in the process of planning and acquiring a couple of odds and ends to permanently wire my main keyboard stand with video, dmx, audio, power and midi cables so it's even tidier.
