hubbadahubbada!

maneco sweet 16 delay, roughly a clone of an EHX 16 second minus the modulation section.

This needs more details !! same chips and all ? or just functionally similar?

Maneco is still around? I had a Manecolooper for a number of years but last I looked a few years ago, he hadn't updated his website in like a decade so I assumed he had put the business to rest. Actually, he still hasn't updated the website.

I didn't get it straight from the builder; I traded one of my grey CT5's for it. I don't know if it uses any of the exact same chips/circuitry as an original 16 second, but it does function very similarly. I had a reissue 16 second on layaway at a music store I used to work at, but then it closed overnight one time and I never had a chance to take it home :( I did get to play with it pretty extensively and this is definitely cut from the same cloth.

I find it more thru-compositional in delivery; where a lot of loopers will make a loop and go into infinity with that sample, this, aptly enough, has the infinity switch which enables a nice segue between conventional looping/suuuper long delay times that might as well be your loop. The trick of switching out of infinity mode and into standard delay mode is that your loop that was recorded (if you dont continue playing) will fade out slowly, which I thought was a really cool feature. I'm definitely gonna be making some videos of it coming up soon here.

I don't know if you can still get them, according to the guy that I traded it with there's about 3 or 4 of these out there.

I know Maneco's facebook page seems to be the best spot for any product info/inquiry, so maybe it's possible to get a ball rolling through there.

My initial takeaway though is really cool. It's like the mid ground, functionally speaking, between a DL4 and a CT5

I'm going to go out on an educated limb and say it's absolutely nothing like the original design, doesn't mean it's not good though!

If only they'd kept the modulation i'd be all over this.

Can you take a gut shot for us curious types?

Thanks! Looks like all the fancy stuff is probably on the second board, the only chip number I can make out there is an A/DC but still cool to see.

First thing I noticed upon unboxing it was that all the components usable from the outside were all super high quality - higher than a lot of stuff I've seen. Whatever the circuitry is about I've got faith in it, it eludes to a similar end.

Only con I've thought of is there's no overdubbing but given the context of everything else that's cool, I kinda would want to keep it that way. I've found (in live situations) any looper that I'd want to do overdubbing with that's had 2 or less switches to control everything to be kind of overwhelming when trying to get shit right and wrangle it the way you want. The exception to that being a CT5 in mode 3, as it's pretty intuitive, but that's also a means to a different end. Like a DL4 is super manageable to do involved looping, but it's also 4 switches so that helps, well, lay it out. I find stuff like the ditto, x2, ehx 720, etc, to be kinda cumbersome and it can be pretty easy to make a wrong step. Maybe that's just my experience, but that on top of being red/green colorblind made a lot of those things a non-option. This thing feels like the missing link somehow:::

Damn thats nasty. I had a mint 16 second reissue I bought brand new, should of hung on to it but oh well. I love the looping on the 16 second delay. Some of that sound on sound stuff is amazing when you can change speed/tempo.

dang I was hoping this would be easily attainable when I saw it on the gram. super cool!

Digitech needs to build a sick clone of the 16 second so we can finally enjoy some sick looping. Where you at digitech rep?

Got really excited thinking there was a new, smaller version in production. There's the mega-looping thread on TGP that Torn started that starts from the basic pitch that someone needs to make a modern 16sdd, but no takers yet.

I use the crap out of my 16sdd. would love one that preserves/enhances: timestretch, sound on sound, reverse preservation on layering, modulation. Would actually prefer if the loop had a wet-only FX loop so you could sub in your own modulation/etc.

oh god i want every pedal i own to have an effects loop. the new EAR 4096 is calling my name partially for that reason. if you have a couple/few pedals with stereo ins/outs, a true bypass pooper and something with an effects loop there are seemingly unlimited combinations of how spacetime can be bent. especially if there is more than one amp =)))

They are making them again and with modulation and an extra footswitch in a smaller enclosure!

Here's mine! One of my favorite pedals of all time, this one has the modulation and I love that you can apply modulation and time stretch and reverse to the loop while unlocked and then press the infinite switch again and lock it! Best looper I have ever played by far and I had an original 16 second looper and I find this way more intuitive to use and think it looks and sounds better, very high quality build!
