...and i'm thinking of paying the rest off tomorrow. i already set it up with my preferred gauge of strings and spent most of the day play testing it (the perks of being a guitar tech). I really like how it looks and feels, never had a wraparound tailpiece before so that's kinda sweet. also, for an sg, it's surprisingly balanced and has no neck dive whatsoever which kinda seals the deal for me. i also get it for a lot cheaper than retail so the fact that it's an el cheapo gibson doesn't bug me. i would hold out for a white one or another neater color gibson is offering these in but gc only seems to be getting black and cherry and i'm not about to go through the trouble of a special order.

Nice one. Black's the only one that looks right to me with that unusual pickguard shape. How are the pickups?

I've gotta say, I love these new cheapo Gibsons. I was at GC earlier and picked up the lime green cheapo-cheapest of that whole line and fuckin loved it. Light, sounds pretty good (although I'd probably end up replacing the pickups)... might get one for those days when my back isn't behaving. Cheaper than a Parker Fly and almost as light!!

thanks, i agree. i looked some more at the other colors and black on black was the only one that looked good with this pickguard shape. and i do really like this new pickguard gibson is doing for these guitars. if they offered a fully black on black version of the les paul model i would have gone with that instead. but getting an sg will be a nice change. as for the pickups, the bridge pickup is pretty good nice and bitey with a fair amount of midrange. the neck pickup is a bit muddy, but not too dark at least.

we got a couple of the super cheap les pauls in first, one of the slime electric green ones like you played. after i set it up, people couldn't put it down. the weight is a major factor for me, i've got bayud shoulders. and i will probably replace the pickups with a lot nicer of a set.

And those Les Pauls have a total Sonex vibe to em.
I might have to jump on one.
Wonder what that titanium looks like IRL...

welp apparently it's coded in the system so that's it's gotta be in the store for 30 days before an employee can buy it. luckily my manager is a champ and at least let me keep it on layaway. so now i basically have a toy to play with at work, and it will have been in the store for 30 days about 2 days after pay day so everything will work out perfectly.

I love the look of those Les Pauls but they are getting shredded on the reviews I've read. My GC doesn't have any in stock to try out unfortunately.
