BAT Witch Burner

I'm looking for an actual mid gain dirt pedal. I have an elements for the heavies, and various fuzzes for the fuzzies...need something between clean and heavy. BAT is usually my first thought when in need of new dirt.

Soooo learn me about the witch burner, dudes.

As an aside, other pedals in consideration are EQD Acapulco Gold (or a clone with a gain knob), Catalinbread dls (or another Marshall in a box), or something like a DOD250, Mxr d+, etc

Witch Burner is pretty burly. It can definitely do mid gain. It can get hairy (in a good way) pretty quickly. Been meaning to make some clips of mine so perhaps I will do some tonight.

I had a witch burner for a while. It sounded really good but was microphonic with some pickups and settings. At times, I couldn't increase the gain over 50% without it squealing. I e-mailed BAT and they said nothing was wrong with it. But, for low/medium gain, it was great. Just a little finnicky when you start to go into the higher gain range (especially with the tone knob up relatively high).

Clips would be greatly appreciated, my dude. Conky and BAT Mark are about the only clips I found. Both make me want one something fierce. Can it do the Marshall-esque thing like the OCD can, or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

Interesting. Sounds like it probably wouldn't be a big problem for me (doubly so given the dad-level volumes I play at these days), but still good to know.

Yeah man, I am working on a ton of demos right now so my recording rig is all set up. I'll make some clips for sure.

That is a rad price on the Boneshaker.
Have you considered the revelation superlead? Had a superbass, was awesome for low end and the lower gain crunch was fucking amazing.

You'd have a pretty cool rig with the last couple of ILF discount buys -- a Gakken into a Boneshaker into a Headrush?

someone said the witch burner was a BAT'd up tubescreamer, and I like that description, so i say go for it, unless you already got a boneshaker.
Looking at the guts, it looks like it's probably closer to the D+/Ross Distortion with LED clipping.
