Native Instruments expert pants?Service Center/Native Access

so, just got a Maschine Jam in. LOVE it. install was super easy with the newer version of Service Center, the Native Pass thing.

but then when i try to load at least half of the groups or projects i get an error that says "Please authorize in Service Center!".

Service Center shows it installed fully, Maschine 2 the software, Maschine 2 the library and the controller. same in Native Pass. both have the wrong serial number than the Jam.

i DID have a Maschine mkI back in the day, is that a remnant messing things up?

murp?

try contacting NI thru your account? when i had a maschine, they were always pretty responsive

jia. i've always had like a 2 or 3 day response, but i sent them a message 4 days ago, no response. and their forums are helpful, but not as busy as ILF.

found some people having the same problem, their solution didna work for me.

it FEELS like legacy issues. Native Pass is cool, more streamlined and i dig it. but i think having it and Service Center running might be problematic?

was thinking about wiping all NI installs, installing all through Native Access, but i'm trying to grab a new pc in the next couple weeks, so i'll have to do that HUGE TIME CONSUMING KOMPLETE install anyways, don't want to do it twice.

do you still use a Maschine? digging the Maschine 2 software? do you use it as a plug in or a full sequencer?

SCHOOL ME CAPITAN STICKY MANS.

having the two going could def be your source
could u maybe remove just the licenses from service center then re-license in the new one w/o having to reinstall everything?

na i had an mk1 i sold it like right around when they announced 2.0 and the huge studio controller so i never got to use 2.0.
i always used it as a plugin inside a DAW. it was def really nice working on songs having it integrated into Live.
sometimes i feel like i was more productive w/ maschine (prolly made a beat a day on it)

in the end, it was super cool/convenient but i got tired of being sorta forced into NI's blackhole. and needing to update it all the time, and me not wanting to buy a new computer to keep up w/ the times, etc, made me sell it. and at the time i was getting into more of the headspace of creating music w/o a computer at all.

Probably a maschine thing I think. I run Komplete 10 + other of their plugs and an Audio6 and have no issues at all. The current license centre made everything a breeze for me after my komplete install shit itself when I tried via cd. Just downloaded the stuff that hadn't been installed yet straight through it.

jia. i'm totes sure it's to do with Maschine and the way it's interacting with Service Center and/or Native Pass.

i was thinking about deleting all Komplete and Service Center and trying to install everything fresh from Native Pass.... just take Service Center completely out of the equation. but i am trying to grab a new pc soon soooo.... not really looking forward to doing those huge installs TWICE.

hah. we have almost the same setup suh. the Komplete 6 is SOLID.

NI got back to me, told me to edit the SC entry for Maschine, erase the incorrect serials, then it would ask me to activate again, put in the correct serials. did that (found basically the same answer on their forum, had tried it), didna work. it tells me the serials for Jam are incorrect. even though i'm looking at the serials card it ships with and the back of Jam and it worked in Native Access.

urf. i just want to MAKE NOISES and learn this neat interface thinggggggy.

I know it's gonna suck to have ya shit just sitting there, but it might save you short term frustration by just waiting for ya new computer and starting from scratch. It's not really a solution though, this shit should just fucking work.

N yeh it's a good setup, I just went for a PUSH 2 over a Maschine for the instant open endedness. Shit just suits me betterer.

YES. NI support got back to me with a serial number to use. it's not what is on my Maschine Jam or the card they sent with it..... i guess the Maschine 2 software has a separate serial? but. it WORKS. YESHHHHHHH.

...... have a new pc coming in on Thursday, and it is HARD to make myself not start any new projects till it's all moved over there. don't want to mess with the folder backup i have of everything i want to copy over.

i'm hoping that i can just install Native Access, use that to DL the Komplete i own and all the other NI loots, skip ever having Service Center on my computer? that should work no?

also, Jam is FUN. stupid, STUPID name. but i really like the slidey strips for effects modulations. WOOT.

If you're using just the Jam and Maschine 2.0 (or later) you won't ever need Service Center again. :!!!: Native Access supports everything you have and stuff released with and after Komplete 11 will require, you should be good to go once you update everything. (Maschine 2.6 came out like last week)
