Essentially you have a pickup that you can place either on your top or bottom string or 2 strings and run a separate output through a different effects chain making that string or two strings have a completely different sound than the rest.

I wish the video had more extreme effects going on as i can think of some crazy applications for this. Either way, nothing I really want or need but thought i'd share cause i appreciate people coming up with new ideas and products.

They said if prostitution is legal there then submarines should be too thinking they'd never have a submarine problem.... well, now they do.

Yeah I'm with you there, this could be pretty cool

Or you could do it my way for 3 effects chains over 1 cable out from the guitar. Multi pin out is the next step once I got past the test phase. Pickups switchable between humbucker and single coil, and individual volume control. (I may just switch them to cooler single coils eventually)

I feel like I remember you talking about potential phase issues with this, am I crazy? I love the idea though.

Is it a new idea if Phil Lesh was doing something similar decades ago?

I thought there might be, no real issue on testing, the isolation between the pickups is surprisingly good. Also, you'd run into more phase issues with the submarine because as far as I can tell it doesn't subtract the two strings from your original pickup.

Not to put down the tool, it's awesome too.
