In this thread:
post effects that you tweak with the CHK CHK BOOM
bonus points for:
pictures
video
mp3
detailed knob settings
One of my gems is the digitech digidelay
to get crazy ring mod like swells:
set the DD pedal to mode 1
set DD level to max (100% wet)
put yr CCB knob to max
trigger CCB whilst turning delay time knob up. At this point it will act like an oscillator. Tune it to find a note that works in your key.
bring the feedback knob down to blend your instruments signal in.
once you find that lil' sweet spot you'll be able to do some sample and hold tricks.
many notes can be held for what seems like forever with out morphing. make sure your repeat knob isn't turned up.
with the repeat knob up you can get cool high pitched swellage as well.

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7825846Here is a weak attempt at a demo...
1st Clean Tone -> :12 Arc Flash (switch up, gain all the way up) -> :23 Arc Flash -> CEB-3 (Rate 0, Depth all the way up) -> :37 Arc Flash -> CEB-3 -> CHK CHK BOOM (Feed Back Looper)
Crazy Crazy Stuff.

This is from the FuzzhuggerFX forum... but the CHK CHK BOOM does some awesome things with chorus pedals... Turns it into a synthy sounding phaser thing...

but it's an embarrassingly sloppy demo just to demo it, ya know? i dun't wanna let the non ILF-publics virgin ears hear my horrible ass drumming.

while trying a few pedals out during rehearsal last night i found that even a plain old big box Rat in the loop gives some crazy fuzzfactory-type bleeps and bloops.
add the MXR Carbon Copy to the mix and you can get downright lunar.

So far I'm getting best results with an Ibanez DE7 (knobs set at 9 o'clock, 12 and 12), getting a nice reverby self-oscillation out of it with the Chk Chk Boom volume at about half. Best heinous noise effect is from my Mind Bender chorus, gives out some beautiful screeches which I'm using for synth-like stabs.
At the moment my chain is wah > tuner > dirts > phaser > CCB with flanger, chorus and delays in the loop.

oh man, yeah i totally posted that clip up somewhere..
MXR Carbon Copy + this guy =
I'm also really into MXR Wylde OD -> Burford Electronics Britt Face Fuzz -> MXR Carbon Copy It can not only blow the world up with it's explosive feedback on the CC, it makes the od + fuzz combo SCREAM over the feedback.
it's fuckin cool.
i'll get a clip when i can get a spare minute *sigh*

i just mine in the mail today. fastest turnaround time ever! i ordered it tuesday night and got it today!! i've been experimenting with a lot of pedals and right now i just made the most ridiculous/scary sounding combination. in the loop it's a russian big muff > boss ps-5 pitchshifted 2 octaves up with the blend knob at about 80% > ibanez ad99 analog delay.
all together makes it sound like some 8-bit video game theme song from hell. i'll make some sound clips and post them later.

alright, here you go! i tried to play mostly repetitive single note stuff, so you can get an idea of how different pedals sound while playing the same thing. you can obviously hear when i'm holding down the chk chk boom. i just recorded with a standard tele, into the pedals, straight into my soundcard in garageband with no amp simulators because i hate how the clean amp simulators on there sound. some parts get kind of loud from the delay with full repeats with the loop feedbacking! a fun little trick is to have the muff and delay on, let it feedback and while holding down the CCB still, really quickly flip the time knob on the delay so it oscillates a little and then hit on the ps-5. you just got a golden coin! lots of muff knob twiddling to give you an idea how changing the sustain and tone knobs can greatly alter the sound, and then i go back and forth from having the ps-5 on/off to show you how that sounds too. this is a really fun noisemaker! but i've also found some more "useful" sounds i'll be definitely using for band stuff.

Some really cool stuff in that demo. I just got mine, and with the limited amount of time that I've gotten to play with it, the CCB sounds great with my DM-3, but it doesn't seem to play nicely with my DL-4. Does that have something to do with how it reacts to analog vs digital circuits? Can't wait to get my Deluxe Memory Man back, so I can use it with some modulation.

i've had nothing but crazy luck with the DL-4. m.
try this: set your delay mix to 100% wet, the feedback knob on the CHK CHK BOOM to 100% (all the way clockwise). Now experiment to get a setting you like and bring your feedback blend over slowly to the left till ya find where it cuts off.
also put a lil' boost in there. an eq pedal set to flat with just a couple of dbs of boost should do it
