This track feels like a segue between songs, tbh. Reminds me of something Lou Reed would do.

Dig it, Love the Gorillaz. Feels kinda unlike them that the main release channel needs to so blankly state an intention, with the "The band has issued this song on the eve of the Inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump to serve as commentary on a politically-charged, historical moment""
edit: fixed my horrible application of English.

Nope.
Gorillaz' first album was good, everything else not good.
This is very bad.
Nope.

I'd never go that far but that might be a lot because I basically grew up listening to the debut
I was 10 when it first came out I believe and I've been listening and loving it since. It's very special to me

However - Gorillaz have never put out a record I didn't like, I am really looking forward to this album and the first single is intriguing. I don't thing that's a quality one sees a lot these days

I always say that Gorillaz was really the first out there music that hit the main stream for our generation. Different people heard it first on different albums, and that's the album they hold most dear.
For a lot of people, they were a catalyst for seeking out different genres of music or more artistic projects.

I've been waiting a long time for this, I love all the Gorillaz releases nearly equally. My wife and I devour it weekly, have been for years. I've seen a lot of Benjamin Clementine lately and I knew I'd be seeing him more in a big way, beyond NPR tiny desk concerts. I'm not too big into his music, but I really appreciate it, at time he has a bit of a Randy Newman thing going on...
Everyone I know who liked the Gorillaz seemed to dig this track, along with myself. A more minimalist approach than even The Fall, which I often cite as my favorite when people ask and I just want an answer. Gorillaz does have a few standalone tracks, so I'm curious to see if this is a one-off or an album track. When I saw blur in NY, fall of '15 Damon sang a short jingle about not letting Trump become president, I remember thinking "haha Damon, we would never do that, silly Englishman" feels like forever ago. Anyway, I wonder if this will be a political album all the way around...seems like the natural progression, it will be interesting to see.
All that said blur>Gorillaz, just give me a follow up to The Magic Whip already!

Dig it. I like how its sorta divided the fan base somewhat. That's gotta be intentional considering the subject matter. Well played.
Its definitely a bold choice for a first single. Makes me curious to hear the rest of the record. Supposedly its gonna be a return to old school Gorillaz randomness. But really, who knows what it will sound like. I'm hyped ether way man.
Side note: playing bass to the S/T is a great way to practice. Same goes for Demon Days. Some tasty ass bass lines mannn.

It kills. GIVE ME THAT RECORD. Demon Days is still so ingrained in me. Kids with guns. Last living souls. Fire coming out of the monkey's head. Haunting lines.
