i think i need a few pedals to do what i want actually...

i messed with some delays, couldn't quite get what i wanted. the whole noise during pauses in songs didn't work out but i still i want something to fill in the silence between songs during sets. i'm guessing getting a looper and building up loops of ambient guitar noise to play would do this for me, but i feel like i still need more than just a reverb and dirt pedals to make some heavily distorted, really spacey, and dark sounding loops to play between songs. looking for suggestions for delays, loopers, etc to accomplish this. if i have to i'll get a bigger pedal board. current pedals are fuck, tuner, hof mini, aby and i have a mini on deck. didn't end up keeping the dyna comp, but i might still get a compressor again to keep on the front end of everything now that i'm using a single coil guitar again.

I use either a Count to Five or a DL4 (sometimes both!) for this purpose. The cool thing about the CT5 is when you're in mode three you have three loops playing at once. I have mind set up for normal, reverse octave down (half speed) and one straight reverse. In effect you can take a simple riff from a song and turn it into an ambient drone, which you can record on top of.

So happy to have a CT5 again. They're amazing tools for seagues and intros/spacey shit.

I do similar things with the DL4, but it takes 3-4 times as many stomps to create a similar sound.

Ct5 is prime for interlude stuff. Or put a little cassette player in a true bypass loop or something, quite cheap and you could do really cool stuff

This is also where I'd imagine Raptio, Judder make their money.
Sample/hold; EHX Freeze and/or Superego as well.

True, and in this category the old digitech PDS delays fit, as well as the timebender, EHX cathedral with infinite mod or eventide space etc etc. There are loads of things there

Mode 2 Ct5 for instant techno action.

Also pick up a Boss Slice-uh. Slice yo face off, yo.

Obv the fun would extend way beyond this one use, but a Microgranny would probably work great for in-between loops.

Echoing this. The downside is that I'd would require some kind of mixer type thing, or a tb-looper

definitely into the ct5, never really even considered it before now. go figure. a dl4 is always an option, but yeah it's still the same giant pedal that's a little hard to get it to do what you want without a few stomps.

does the rapito do anything other than that stutter? coz if not, that's pretty much useless to me. not looking to hold notes, so the freeze is out. the judder seems pretty sweet coz it seems to do a bit of everything and that's always good. same for the superego, but it seems a bit tame from demos i've watched.

i have a broken digitech pds delay, if i could get that up and running i'd be using it, but then again i'm super hard on pedals. i'd probably destroy the plastic footswitch covers. and looking at the timebender and cathedral then thinking back to the pds, they're all so big that i'd HAVE to get a new pedal board to even use one of them. which i know i said previously isn't a big deal but if it turns out all i need is one pedal, might as well go for size factor.

microgranny looks sweet, though i'd probably end up playing with it for a lot of other things, it doesn't really seem to be a pedal but just a stand alone sampler? that worries me going back to my pedal abuse.

i'm leaning toward the ct5 or judder at the moment now as i don't mind that my loops wont be continuous, i like the "restart" that these kinds of loopers and delays have when the loops ends and picks back up.

CT-5 is one of the coolest pedals for this but was a little too pretty sounding for me? I feel like if I'd put more thought into what I was trying to do with it I could've gotten gnarlier stuff though. The judder is fucking sweet.

Raptio is momentary, though.

You can do this with the DD-500 and some creativity. Also the Headrush.

Tera Echo in DD-500, or the TE-2.

Around the 1:30 mark here: https://soundcloud.com/morgen-32470107/bm2

That was Tera Echo + ODB3 that I slowly turned the vol down. Shit builds nice and you can keep adding more stuff to create cute noise.

Very different than what has been mentioned so far but the Lo-Fi Loop Junky seems like it could be a decent fit. Also tiny and battery powered only. Con: expensive.

that sounds pretty epic! very similar to what i want.

i'll definitely check out the tera echo and dd-500 next time at work.

no 9v dc on the lo-fi loop junky?
