I'm looking for some tuners for my band since we have been using one from the 80s that barely works, and last night that was a problem.

What tuners do you guys use?

Don't forget that Robert Johnson also turned towards the corner of the room or to the Devil to tune. (Whichever was more convenient at the time.)

I use a V1 Polytune. I've had it for about 5 years now I reckon, the display glass has to be gaffered in place and the poly mode doesn't really work anymore.

I love it and I am too cheap to spend money on a new one that would be brighter and fully functional because I'm a piece of shit Also could probably email TC about the non-functioning Poly, maybe it just needs to be recalibrated? I don't know

Korg pitchblack. Sometimes think about the fancy polytune stuff, but eh it's a tuner, the display is easy to read, it works. Why change? For a lot of gigs I don't bring one and just tune by ear with the rest of the band because I bring a bunch of instruments and amps and I'm not buying another tuner, and sometimes we're dealing with slightly out of tune pianos and stuff. I'm a scrub though

polytune mini, although the footswitch is starting to get fussy on mine and I have to stomp it to get it to turn on occasionally...

I've been using a Snark pedal tuner since early 2013. I love how cheap and easy to read it is but it stopped working 2 weeks ago. I think from having it loose in my gear bag bouncing around. Bummer

My ears. Why else do we have them?


Serious answer: I use a TC Polytune 2 mini and I have heard great things about the Sonic Research mini tuner.

I just use this thing

I've used a V1 polytune for several years and its been solid, the switch is weird some times, and its not super accurate. I upgraded my main board with the Sonic Research Turbo Tuner which is the fastest most accurate tuner I've ever used. If you don't want to drop the money on that, the Korg pitchblack is the next most accurate tuner and the screen is super bright and easy to read.

+1 on the Snark PT. $40, and real easy to read. Also has a power output to chainoff of so you can rock all your dirt and tuner on one supply connection.

I had one break, but I bought 3 originally so it wasn't a problem, plus they sent me a brand new one when I emailed them.
