I dont know if this has had a thread yet, i didn't dig thaat many pages back

but whats the whose doin' the best doubly? eh? ideally no more than like 250 or so? if not in that range then what at all?

looking for something that covers a lot of ground tonally, to be able to have be my only dirt pedal at all.

i have the grey channel now, it's a good box but mechanically it's switches have been finicky where it'll cut out or sound like it's battery is sagged when rubbed just the wrong way (not using a battery).

that said the grey channel is a little different than what I think a double is - it's a one or the other not one or both

i looked around the internet and deduction brought me to the jhs sweet tea

i never looked into jhs at all, but i heard they smelled funny or something like that and oh man did the internet bring me up to speed. I just googled "JHS sucks" and let'r rip

but the sweet tea's so good dude. I would almost want to get it to rehouse it, i dont know one bridge at a time but it seems like an appropriate means to an end, but the world is filled with so many pedals that i wonder why i would settle

I had a fulltone gt 500 for a little that would fit the bill nicely and was actually pretty dope. Can be had really cheap too. i think it's pretty much just a more gainy version of their full drive pedals, which are also pretty great.

There's the Hungry Robot Hg+Lg :idk: Haven't messed with it myself, but it's compact and it'll score ya ilf cred ponits :idk:
Another compact one that I'm sure sounds great: Zvex Double Rock. Pricey for what it does though :/

No as hip, but imo really overlooked and super useable: H&K Tube Factor.
Also, all those Blackstar duals seem to be popular as shit :idk:

And just based on my experience with the Clusterfuzz, I'd be all over this if I had half an excuse:

Been looking at the Dunn Grand Deceiver for a while. Don't know if the 2x LM308 style works for your sound, but $165 ain't bad?

Others :
Way Huge Camel Toe
Xotic AC+ or BB+
FEA Labs Dual Distortion
BAT Coven or Sarcophagus
Blackout Twosome
MadeByMike Dream Box
SS/BS Fuck Mountain
SS/BS Mini x2 duct taped together :animal:

What's behind the 2-in-1 box requirement? Maybe a custom solution from one of the friendly builders around here?

If you like a Muff, one of the "Special" versions of the Twosome is the way to go.
If you're particular about the circuits, customs are easily made and many builders will do them for you.

box of rock is sick. I had a badcat 2tone for awhile that sounded great. Very flexible eq with a lot of gain on tap, if needed.

additionally, do you want something that has master bypass?

Basically three switches. One for each individual distortion and one as a master on/off. Should you need to go from Clean to both on this makes things easier.

I'd probably try to figure out what sounds you like best and look custom.

Maybe you love rat into muff. Or OCD into muff. Or OCD into OCD.

Many builders could do something customer. Master bypass, diode selection and order switching (rat into muff becomes muff into rat). Feel like you've got a lot of options with a budget of $250,

Hell yes dual rats. This thread also reminds me how much I like the Boss SD-2. :snax:

It's not a thing but it needs to be one.
Front Room Fuzz Lounge did a demo of the EAE Model feT and the (edit:I was wrong) Coloursound Tonebender.
Anyway it was FUCKING GLORIOUS and it need to happen.
Email them about a dual box and I'll definitely be in on a run.

The BAT dual pedals should melt brains through the skull.

Oh man you guys rule

I watched a bunch of demos and this has all been super enlightening

I forgot up front about how I have a thing against pedals with more than 7 knobs - I always end up getting intimidated by any more than that when playing live, and even then I feel like (I) should only have one pedal on my board that has that many knobs at a time. I'm kinda thinking of it like like MtG or something where you can only have so many of a certain thing or some shit. Not to say any 8 knob and up pedal can't sound good i'm not contesting that, just more than I like to chew. I don't know call me crazy

To answer all the questions:

I really like double drives as I feel like they are more bang for your buck without compromising
I don't need three switches - two is definitely fine. Order switching would be tight but it's not a deal breaker. I like the idea of having something made, I mean sure what's not alluring about that? I'm not really super attached to any one circuit or anything tho- I've switched so many things in my rig lately that i don't really have a constant to compare everything against (both my guild s-100 and g&l sc2 are voiced wayy different from each other and I use either a solid state Rickenbacker bass amp or a garnet revolution ii)

That said that hungry robot seems pretty slick - I like the size of it for sure and it does a lot.

I don't know man all the world's an oyster

Don't think anyone mentioned the EQD Hoof Reaper yet. I liked mine while I had it. It's pretty versatile, plus you get the cool octave up thing.

If you really want something like the Sweet Tea, then I'd suggest talking up Dunwich or someone in the Shark Tank to build you a double of the Ibanez Tube Screamer and MI Audio Crunch Box.
Then again, I think I'd rather have a Fuck Mountain.

put your favorite overdrive going into your favorite fuzz with a sick graphic and feel like a champion. or stack od's or whatev.

or there's the BAT destroyer if you like simplicity and punching your amp in the face :doom:
