Is there a purpose or usefulness to having allergies?

Is Nature just saying go away I don't want you here?

Now an allergy to cats may have some use if you live in the Serengeti and worry about lions.
So if I lived there and raised chickens or goats I could hire some one allergic to cats to let me know when ever lions came around.
On second thought there would be all that complaining and demands that I do something about the Lions.
A couple of big dumb dogs would also work, no complaining, less up keep, pure loyalty and love, and they would go fight the lions to the death without me even having to ask.

Sorry due to the current economical situation you have been replaced by two dogs.

I'm allergic to things I've never even heard of, nor have seen. I have terrible allergies, ranging from hives all the way to flu-like sickness. Right now I have a sinus headache from allergies from God knows what, and it's been going on for a few days. Medicine doesn't help, but I don't want to pay $50 for Claritin or whatever the other shit is :| C'mon, 12 pills for $50? Fuck. I rather suffer.

I have recently found out that all my "sneezing fits" that I have had over the years is because I am allergic to dust... :grumpy: :grumpy: Allergies straight out SUCK!

I'm actually not allergic to animals, but if an animal has been outside, and I pet it, I break out in hives. So whatever dust, pollen or what have you the animals been rolling around in messes me up ;S

Last night I woke up and had this weird itchy feeling all over my body. I started scratching and when I turned on the lights, I had a rash EVERYWHERE + red skin.

I went to the docter that evening and I have some sort of allergy, but we don't know of what. So now I'm taking medication against the itch.
They took a bloodsample but they'll only know the results in 2 weeks :(

Yeah, docs aren't usually that great when it comes to rashes. I've had "mystery hives" before, and they usually just say "take some benadryl, and call us if it doesn't go away in a day or so." From what I understand, there could be so many causes of the average rash, the docs don't worry unless you're also going into anaphylactic shock...

Yeah, but then again; I can't really blame them. The rashes could be caused by anything.

I googled it and appearantly mine could be caused by food, insectbites, the sun, water, plants, stuff in the air, ...

Basically anything. But I think we'll know more when I get my bloodsample back.
