NOT THE ACTUAL EVENTS, THE NEW 5 SONG EP WILL BE RELEASED NEXT FRIDAY, 12/23 WITH PREORDERS LIVE RIGHT NOW. THE EP FINDS REZNOR AND NOW OFFICIAL BANDMATE ATTICUS ROSS TAKING AN UNEXPECTED LEFT TURN FROM 2013’S HESITATION MARKS AND SOUNDING UNRECOGNIZABLE FROM THEIR CURRENT FILM WORK.
“IT’S AN UNFRIENDLY, FAIRLY IMPENETRABLE RECORD THAT WE NEEDED TO MAKE” SAYS REZNOR. “IT’S AN EP BECAUSE THAT ENDED UP BEING THE PROPER LENGTH TO TELL THAT STORY.”
REZNOR EXPLAINS, “THE FRAGILE OCCUPIES A VERY INTERESTING AND INTIMATE PLACE IN MY HEART. I WAS GOING THROUGH A TURBULENT TIME IN MY LIFE WHEN MAKING IT AND REVISITING IT HAS BECOME A FORM OF THERAPY FOR ME. AS AN EXPERIMENT, I REMOVED ALL THE VOCALS FROM THE RECORD AND FOUND IT BECAME A TRULY CHANGED EXPERIENCE THAT WORKED ON A DIFFERENT YET COMPELLING LEVEL. THE FRAGILE: DEVIATIONS 1 REPRESENTS ATTICUS AND I EMBELLISHING THE ORIGINAL RECORD WITH A NUMBER OF TRACKS FROM THOSE SESSIONS WE DIDN’T USE BEFORE. THE RESULT PAINTS A COMPLIMENTARY BUT DIFFERENT PICTURE WE WANTED TO SHARE.”
THE FRAGILE: DEVIATIONS 1 WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON ANY DIGITAL SERVICES AND ONLY AVAILABLE IN THIS FORMAT WHILE THIS LIMITED RUN LASTS.
Plus all the major albums/EPs are being repressed.

the fragile was the last NIN record i liked but 80 bucks and no digital? fuck that.

It comes with a digital copy which is available Monday, it's just not being sold digitally. I'm sure you'll be able to find a torrent next week without much difficulty.
I only threw down the money for this one because I missed a couple other limited physical releases from them (i.e. the ghosts package) & I want at least one for my collection. Plus I really love that album for the sonics so the concept of this record is something I'm all about.

Nope, it's the exact reason I think so. I actually like a lot of Year Zero, but every proper release (exempting Ghosts, and even lots of that) since then has been so bland that I don't figure there's much hope. Don't get me wrong -- I want it to be good SO BAD!

I mean I get that the radio anthems pay the bills but jeez. It's a good thing he was able to pay people to sit in his mansion and make sounds for two years or whatever it was.
Also didn't this already get one remix?
Double also I bet this sounds fucking amazing and I'm really interested to hear it, actually.

I just got an email from the nin store with a zip file attached and I was all excited they sent the audio a few days early but in the zip file was just the album artwork and and message saying the download would be available in two days
