I created an account just to say this. ILF member PsychicVampire was Feral Pines. She was one of my dearest friends. I loved her like she was my own sister. She loved talking about this forum, and how decent people here were to her. All of us that knew her and Cash Askew and Em Bohlka, who were also killed in the fire, are fighting a hard uphill battle against misgendering and deadnaming in the press. We could use any help possible with calling or emailing press editors to make sure they don't continue to deadname her.

Hard to think of a worse answer to that question, than [this] news. 2016 has been one bitch of a long year, that cant end soon enough.

Feral left Bloomington Indiana because of a bad breakup, losing her job, and the general repressive transphobia and homophobia of the Midwest. She was really depressed and miserable here, but she came to life in California. She wanted to be where the other trans people were. She was only there for like three months, but that's probably why she stopped posting. I mean, she loved this forum, but being on forums all the time was largely from being to depressed to go outside the house. She was finally happy and vibrant and alive, and now she is gone.

Oh fuck this is horrible news. I'm so sorry for your loss and that it's being made even worse by a bunch of pricks. She always seemed like a really great person from interacting on here.

I read the Guardian article earlier but didn't know her real name at the time, it was sad enough as it was, I don't understand why it's so hard to have a little respect.

Thank you for sharing. She was one of my favorite people on the forum and I was wondering why she might have stopped visiting as much. I'm so glad to hear that she found some good times for a while there. And so, so sad that she didn't make it out.
