Anybody tried the new version of the SFT?
I'm curious about the stoner mode... does it have a lots of gain?

I've just played the first version (I own one) and love it. Very round, blunt and LOUD—it's not a pretty, buttery kind of drive, more of a tough, brutish thing. Play it through a 6L6 amp like a Twin and it's instant Keith Richards. I've never really used mine for any kind of higher gain situations, though.

That said, I'm totally interested to hear if someone chimes in about the v2, curious if it nails Homme type stuff (I'm assuming that's their aim).

How do you like the EQ on the V1?

There's a ton of bass, which I don't use a ton of as a guitarist (I use some but don't go nuts with it), but would be pretty useful if you wanted to use this for something like keys or bass. Its eq reminds me a lot of the Mini's in that respect. It'd be rad if it had a bias knob as well.

I have the V1 SFT, and really like it for bass. I used it to record a lot too.

On guitar, mine is pretty low gain, but as mentioned, sounds pretty good. brutish.
I did use it for a while as an always on pedal. clean to beef up my base tone.

The EQ is really effective. start and noon and go from there.
If I max both treble and bass on mine, it does get pretty gainy/doomy.....but sort of hollow. not really usable, imo.

When I saw the version with stoner/stones switch........I was immediately in love.
I will get one someday.
