I just went and put out another Crotchthrottle album, called "Whatever We're Calling The Next Album." This one was a long time coming - most of the songs are at least three years old, some have elements dating back eight or more. These wee beasties have survived the death of two separate computers, lived in limbo on an external hard drive for months at a time, and were finally saved by a donated laptop. There's a lot of living going on in those noises! As a result, I have absolutely NO idea what was used for the signal chain on any particular sound, though I can guarantee that in true ILF fashion I've probably sold / traded over 90% of what was used on any given song. They're all instrumentals (no lyrics were harmed in the making of this album), and I still struggle for a genre tag beyond "that weird shit I do." Psychedelic, except without the hippies? Spacerock? Melodic noise? I dunno. There are lots of textures and melodies and rhythms and most of the songs were made entirely with bass guitar and effects but with the goal of not sounding like bass guitar (except when it does sound like bass guitar) and some of the songs have massive 180 degree shifts in the middle and some start really droney but don't stay drones and some are happy and some are sad and and and and...

...yeah.

Physical copies are available in the oh-so-popular CD format for those of you into that sort of thing (and they come with a sticker!) at http://75orlessrecords.com/crotchthrott ... ext-album/

The streamable / downloadable version is up at https://crotchthrottle.bandcamp.com/alb ... next-album

And if you like the burbles, gurgles, wobbles and (dare I say) riffs within, you can like the project on FB - https://www.facebook.com/Crotchthrottle/ - updates can be sparse at times, but are typically random and odd. So there's that!

As always, ILF gets a shoutout in the liner notes because it is the best place ever, and fuels most of the noises made on the album.

I love the tag "not the only music you listen to"

Digging this dude! Keeps surprising me with songs shifts I don't expect and I really dig it.

Been enjoying this a lot! A friend of mine said that it sits right in the middle of being familiar enough to grab you, but peculiar enough to be compelling. I am inclined to agree. Thanks for sharing it. I'm also a fan of the cover art - looks similar in style to something I would make, so you must have good taste!

Thanks guys! I originally started doing Crotchthrottle stuff just as a way to keep myself amused and do something with all the stuff that didn't make it into a regular band context, so it's always incredibly gratifying when other people dig it too.

And I have to say that this might be one of the best testimonials I've gotten yet!

Pretty much hits exactly what I always hope to go for...
