Electribe EMX-1 - what do?

Hey, i've got an EMX-1, and i'd like to have it running while I play on guitar/bass/whatevs. Problem is, I'm not entirely sure what I need. Do I need like a full PA for something like this? Mixer and studio monitors? Any suggestions/recommendations?
Pretty much a noob at it so any input is definitely appreciated. Thanks!

It's got a 1/4 output, right?
Plug it into a bass amp.

It does! L/R ones in fact. Wouldn't mind copping dat stereo goodness... Bass amp I've got ain't mine, It's a Behringer, any danger of killing that speaker?

Depends on the volume, but probably not.
Are either of the outs marked as "mono/L" or something similar? If it is, I'd use that one.

not totally related, but swapping out the tubes on those is a must. makes the tube gain so much more useable.

Cool! Particular tubes you might suggest? 12au/ay something like that?

yea something like that or any tubes compatible w/ those. theres a lot of info out there of different tubes ppl have tried. i forget which ones i ended up w/.
edit: found em in the drawer! they are JJ ECC83S.
i think they are a lower gain type tube. they were pretty cheap too if i remember right, and the sound difference is immaculate.

I use an EMX1 all the damn time. Midi sync is awesome with this one. Set 'er up and let 'er rip..
I made some bandcamp jams on a boring night right after I got it.

Just some goofy 4/4 nonsense.

Bass speakers are designed to accept the full frequency range, so no worries there. It's only guitar amps that are at risk of damage, because they're not designed to take bass frequencies.
If you choose a bass amp over a PA, you will have to deal with the voicing of the amplifier and the speaker, but that isn't really a bad thing. A lot of cheap PA speakers just sound terrible, and the good ones are almost too clean sounding. A bass amp is perfect to give a little more character to something like the EMX-1.
Also, the Electric ER-1 was the first drum machine that I ever got, and I still miss the thing. Very versatile and a bit quirky

speakers or amps. amps. speakers.
I can't risk damage on a guitar AMP by sending the wrong signals, but a guitar SPEAKER. right? wrong?
Yeah i think that's right, damage would be to the speaker, not the amp components.

Oops, sorry about that! I meant to say "It's only guitar speakers that are at risk of damage, because they're not designed to take bass frequencies."
You can run guitar amp heads into bass speaker cabs for lots of good character too!

Thanks everyone. I guess i mostly want something that's clear and reproducible; i could bring a bass amp out with me, but i'm not sure I'd ever even gig with the EMX. I'm running it right now into a dj mixer/amp to stereo console speakers. It sounds muffled and too bassy maybe? The mixer is breaking down so that's a problem, and i think the speakers may be coloring things too much.

Any other suggestions? Small mixer/monitor combo suggestions?
