Got to the theater without a ticket got there to late to buy a ticket asked around for a extra ticket and nobody had one I had given up until when I was leaving I came across two guys and asked if they had a extra ticket and they said no but told me to follow them... Because they were on the mother fucking guest list and I got in for free! It was amazing! Solid set of mainly Eternal songs and other not to old SY songs. I also so got a sweet shirt (to make up for them not getting any of my ticket money). I saw Sonic Youth again tongiht

My dad saw Sonic Youth once, and at the end of the show Thurston threw his guitar into the air, but the strap caught his arm and it whirled around and hit him on the head.

Sweet. I'm seeing them tomorrow. That band has never disappointed. Seriously amazing.

They need to come out to hawaii I have seen them quite a few times but my wife hasn't. You haven't really seen a show till you see a sonic youth show(ok thats probably a overstatement)

Congrats! I saw them in Philly a few weeks ago for the first time and was blown away. Always loved the music from way back but seeing them live was a real experience. Considering how long they've been doing it I was pretty much expecting a fairly routine performance, I was wrong. I feel like they played with the same fire, punch and fuck it tude they were known for 30 years ago. Amazing show.

The Entrance Band opened for them, another great show. Wall of sound trio with cooool psychedelic groovy grooves. The best part was watching Paz Lenchantin on bass, simply hypnotizing... she makes me melt.

Wow. Sorry pepes, I was wasted when I wrote that post.
Sonic Youth did a incredible job Saturday, they played mainly Eternal songs and older songs like Tom Violence, Silver Rocket, etc. Thurston used his new signature Jazzmaster pretty much through the whole show, he seems to like it a lot. Thurston also couldn't remember what the first track off Daydream Nation was, he thought it was Silver Rocket. The crowd was kind enough to help him remember what the first track was. This is the second show I've seen them with Ibold, and he seems a lot more in place this time around. When I saw them a few years ago after O'Rourke left and Ibold joined, it just felt like he didn't fit in very well. Well how about a setlist: Tom Violence, No Way, Sacred Trickster, Calming the Snake, Silver Rocket, Walkin Blue, Anti-Orgasm, Malibu Gas Station, Leaky Lifeboat, Antenna, Poison Arrow, Massage the History, White Cross. Encore: The Wonder/Hyperstation, What We Know, Pacific Coast Highway.

I was just at the Minneapolis show at First Ave. Classic band, classic club. One of the best shows I've ever been to. Punk rockers just get started at 50 years old. I lost a full beer when they came on and hit the first note and everyone erupted. I was only upset about it until they hit the second note. Then it was time to jam out with my clam out.
