MOUNTAINKING demo videos, what do you think?

Hello Fuzz Lovers,
I'd like to conduct an informal survey about the Mountainking demo videos I've been making. We upload them as a series of short videos with simple descriptive titles. The idea being that if you want to hear a certain style of playing you can go directly to that video and if you like what you hear we figure you'll check out the rest.
Does this format make sense to you guys, or would you rather the segments get edited together as one long video? Or to put it another way, do you think you are more likely to watch one 5 minute video, or five 1 minute videos?

I'm very curious to hear what you think, thanks in advance for the feedback,
-Nate

1I like longer demos as well typically because you can show more tones and vary playing styles, but it also depends on how vast the pedal is. I think some pedals you can get away with a short demo, but others would need to be a bit longer. That being said, I like that you're thinking outside of the box and trying to give varying styles of playing in several videos as opposed to one. So I don't know, either way is cool. I find myself fast forwarding demos if there's too much playing and not enough knob turning.
Hope to see more! Plus bass demos!!!!!!

Makes sense to me. Fuck talk. Just play. Make it quick, show the settings, get to fuzzing.
I give it a full

rating. I would give it

if bass demos were also similarly made.

Bass demos are very high on the list of priorities
We just did a shoot with the harpist Mary Lattimore... harp>Megalith>Ampeg V4... sounds like a Sunn O))) record

we're very excited to share them with you guys.
For the Frequency~LSD videos we did a lot of knob turning, for the Heavy Machine we just dialed in a sound for each segment and let Yanni rip. I might do a very simple set of videos that are just meant to kind of pedantically show what the knobs do.

I know! There's so much about most gear videos that drive me nuts.

i liked that they were succinct, to be honest, and that there was no talking -- just playing, but there's a lot to encompass with a genre.
heavy metal - trash? black? nwobhm? traditional? there are a lot of places you can go with these so it's hard to say where you SHOULD go.
yanni sure does rip though.

We try to go into the shoots with an idea of the types of sounds and genres we'd like to cover but also remain flexible and just see what the player comes up with. Yanni is so great to work with, aside from being a top notch player he's just a total comedian.
I think our demos will always be short and sweet and if there ever is talking it would have to be for a good reason. So far it seems about split as to whether folks would prefer the segments as discreet videos or edited together as one longer piece (which would still only be about 5 or 6 minutes)
The feedback is very much appreciated, keep it roll'n in

Agreed entirely. I feel like a 5-6 minute clip that's got very distinct tones at each minute/45second mark is the way to go -- I listen to a lot of demos without watching them, but I'll alt-tab back if I hear something that really piques my interest. I really enjoyed, for example, the bite-sized stylistic takes on the Heavy Machine. Definitely wasn't expecting to hear anything that sounded like D.C. Hardcore, so that was nice.
Also I love everything about this demo:

I dig what you're putting down. The "Bad Brains" segment was entirely Yanni's idea, that and the above mentioned "I broke my guitar" bit are my favorites.

For a while Alan and I have been talking about doing some comparison videos, for instance comparing the Heavy Machine to a Big Muff. The idea being to give context, but, it maybe feels kind of like an un-cool thing to do, like we were talking smack or something. Of course that's not the intent, we LOVE Muffs, where would we be without them? Then today, I saw these JHS videos that I think accomplish the goal without seeming smug or like they're pissing on a classic.
Would you guys be interested in seeing something like this?

It's like that.
Yeah, comparisons are good.
Mary Lattimore is awesome!
I also think you should dole out vids instead of shooting the vid wad.

As long as the comparison doesn't involved JHS at any point in time, yes.

I'm pretty sure JHS stands for juvenile handjob sex, well I'm not, but right now my brain says it might or it does...
Not something one would want to get involved with (tell that to the Catholic Church), comparison vids could be good though.
