DOD 440 issue

Theres a fuzziness in the peaks of the envelope. Mine is the older reissue from 1996.
I was reading that this might be a common issue with these but has anyone out there heard of a fix?
Thanks!

I have no experience in this but I think it is a volume issue and also a filter Q being too narrow. I would start by managing the volume by adding a pot and a trimmer. that way you don't change the sound of the pedal at all. I would put a 100KA attenuator pot before the 10nf input cap. after the 10nf input cap I would change 10k to 1K. then I would modify the gain of inverting opamp that handles the output volume and the active filter network. the 430K negative feedback resistor can be changed to a 220K resistor in series with a 500K trimmer. that should sort you out without actually decreasing the resonance of the filter.

if you don't add an input trimmer 100K or pre gain pot, then don't decrease the 10K to 1K. without the 100K trimmer you would probably do better to increase 10K to 33K.

Thanks. Just seeing this now..
I was hoping I could go a shorter route and test/ swap/ add the correct resistor to cap to remedy the issue.
Is there at least a shot at that? Trying to understand. I didn't want to add a trimmer unless it was crucial that I do so. I really appreciate your help.

no trimmer eh? how many times do you want to desolder the same resistor? you need to increase the resistance at the input. change the 10K resistor to something bigger like 27K 33k 47k. also I want to reiterate that this will probably fix it only if it is a volume issue that can be fixed that way. I can estimate but you need to verify that this will actually work. I take no responsibility for any damage or unwanted affect.

One way to make that experimentation easier could be to socket the resistor. Just cut up one of these.

I was thinking that I could just use alligator clips to test resistors but i'd definitely rather install a socket. Thanks. Good idea.
I'm making a small bear order next week. Hopefully they carry these.
Thanks guys
