I saw that movie nearly a decade after its release on HBO when I moved & got my own tv...and HBO somehow appeared free along with our basic cable, albeit a bit fuzzy (which I could remedy by lowering the Sharpness control). This was pre-WWW internet (or before it caught on anyway) and seeing nudity as a kid was much more of a challenge.

I scoured the newspaper to learn when it would be rerun and recorded to vhs for pause/rewind mirin. This was in spite of already having a subscription to Playboy, and a buddy who kept giving me pron mags stolen from his weird uncle who had a waist-high stack. I remember one of them was called Swedish Erotica with a cover price of like $35! (for reference the entire basic cable service was $30/month)
Anyway the point of this story is Phoebe Cates was a dreamy *good girl* who shared her glorious rack with the world and even in slighty fuzzy, standard def TV resolution she gave me the vapors in ways the printed smut just couldn't duplicate.
Only now realizing this may be the origin of my love for fuzz

One of my favorite bands ever with one of my favorite guitar players.

Its weird, I always listened to the Cars a lot growing up and then I found out (only rather recently) one of my neighbors was super good friends with Ben Orr and he had a house about 10 miles from me, the town I grew up in is super small (3000 people) in Vermont.

Elliot Easton is underrated for sure.
