What's with Maxon?

Every one of their pedals is a clone of an Ibanez pedal.. And they sell for more...

Maxon made all the original Ibanez pedals for Ibanez. The Maxon stuff is still made to the high vintage standards. The Ibanez stuff is not (still good pedals though).
Also, not every pedal is a clone. The AD-999 is one of the greatest delay pedals of all time and they created that one themselves. IT has nothing to do with a vintage AD-9 past the name and colour.

Blah lowwatt beat me while I was typing.
All the "famous" Ibanez pedals were really maxon designs. Ibanez paid maxon to design and produce pedals, and Ibanez just put their name on it.
They parted ways a few years back.

Maxon made the originals -- Ibanez makes the cheap rip-offs.
While some of their stuff is kind of cheezy or unusable (a lot of the ODs), their delays are probably about as good as it gets.
There was one up on musicgoround.com for $200 recently, but some jackass beat me to it

The ad999 is the "pro" version of the ad900, I believe.
I ain't gonna lie and say I've played them head-to-head, but as long as we're talking maxon delays, I'm sure they are all pretty kick ass.

The 900 gives you 600ms of delay. The 999 gives you 900ms of delay.
The AD900 is loved most because it's one of the richest and clearest analog delay tones of all time. The AD999 sounds a little trashy in comparison with a little bit of a metallic vibe to it's repeats on really long delay settings. For me that's why I love it. Those trashier repeats are fucking awesome.
