New Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

So this new Nick Cave is what I expected from him considering it's his first album since his son tragically died. It's dark, ominous and meandering. Very excited for this album and I imagine a bunch of you are too.

I'm still mourning Grinderman but that song is fucking phenomenal.

Grinderman was stupid cool, really glad to have seen them when I did, but I've been really anticipating this basically since his son died, which sounds absolutely terrible, but more because a lot of the best art has been made in times of tragedy, and it gon' be good.

Another Grinderman mourner, they put on such a good show but Cave and whatever Seeds alumni are around always do. Love this song and super excited for the new album. And the film! Just bought my ticket.

Have either of you guys listened to any of his and Warren Ellis's soundtracks/seen the films? The recent soundtrack for Loin Des Hommes was real unexpected.

I have not, but I also have gaping holes in my Nick Cave listening (its mostly the birthday party and grinderman)

His 90s works are rad, DoS.
Let Love In is fucking coolsville.

I was not aware of his son, that's awful.

90's Nick Cave got stupid dark sometimes too, in a really great way. Up Jumped The Devil is visceral as hell.

DoS check this out, some of it might be up your alley based on some stuff I've seen you post/make/enjoy. Also a great film, adaptation of The Guest by Camus.

Super psyched about new Bad Seeds-album. Got tickets for the film!
I didn't start listening to Nick Cave until they released that teaser for "Push The Sky Away" and a friend of mine posted it on FB.
Saw it and just thought "This is something I have been missing out on! Need to get in on this!".

My favorite album is probably Let Love In, but I really like the current version of the Bad Seeds as well.
Warren Ellis have been one of my favorite musicians for the last 3-4 years.

And Grinderman is the shit! Hoping for comeback one day!

That album is really killer Olin. Thanks!

Just re-listened to Henry's Dream. That's a fucking record.

Ok so Dig Lazarus Dig is also about as good as I remembered it. Which is to say, very. Still prefer Grinderman 1 to 2. Still awake binging Nick Cave at 3am. Fuck yeah.

Is Nick Cave the only artist we agree on?

Is Blixa Bargeld back? Without him, Nick Cave's gone too Neal Diamond on his last few albums.
