everything on rear is best but if you are going to do side jacks at least put the power on the rear

Top mounted/Lovetone style is so cool, I wish more people did it.

there should be an "i don't care" option. granted, i'm the sort of person who leaves space between my pedals because i'm clumsy & have big feet.

I like the idea of top faced jacks, especially for tabletop setups, but if my board was top face jacks only I would probably break a lot of jacks.
So rear jacks with rear power for me.

Depends on the pedal, really. The size & how complicated its interface...but mostly the spacing inside & out.
I like Boss style with the side jacks, rear power.
I like MXR style with side everything.
I like EHX big box style effects with rear everything on a slant.
I like lovetone steez.
I like top mount everything.
Repeat, the spacing is key. If a power jack & in/out jack are cramped/close together it limits placement/wiring options.
