I have been trying out for this band and last night I met there old bass player. After practice I asked him if he had any constructive criticism and he said " Your bass doesnt look metal enough (I play an Ibanez artcore semi-hollow bass (I love the look of F holes))and you use too many pedals, sell you bass and effects then buy a REAL bass (i think he was thinking like a BC rich or something). I just needed to tell someone this it has been fuckin buggin me. I now understand why they kicked him out. Well the fact that he is an ass AND he cant play worth shit.

Hey if you're taking his place that should be enough to shove in his face.

I would but this is the worst part...He is acting as manager...I guess the dude has alot of contacts and is really good at setting up shows, something the rest of us are not so good at. So I need to deal with his douchiness for a bit until we start drawing crowds to shows and I can tell him what I really think.

I hate that attitude...I mean I love pointy guitars and stuff, but not because they are metal...
Long upper horns make for nice arm rests.

How your guitar looks and no effects are totally everything when it comes to metal.

F that S, IMO metal is all about effects and presence and nothing how your equipment looks. tell him to stick it up his f hole. oh wait he's not good enough to have one.

Just tell him to shut the fuck up. If he says anything about it and the band ACTS upon it, just leave - they're not worth your time.

I love the look and sound of single cut hollow bodies with F holes.
And yet i play fenders go figure.
Waterstone makes a nice looking 4 stringer.
http://www.waterstoneguitars.com/bass_new_tp4.shtmlSounds like your guy is more into the image of “Metal” than the music.

Wow they look nice but im skeptical of the sound. The placement of the routs for accessing the electronics leads me to beleive that it is not very hollow, at least not as much as I would like. Im going to keep saving for a gretsch, although it will be awhile im looking at a Gretsch G6119B Broadkaster and it will set me back about $1500. although I first need to find one in hawaii so I can hear how it sounds with fuzz.
