It is interesting, it's the only electric one that I can say doesn't sound a feel like a mutant, a failed attend and a portable version of a upright, this is like a electric guitar compared to a acoustic. Yes it will get as a acoustic sound as any instrument with a bridge piezo pickup sure but having the magnetic pickups let you really dial in a lot more out of the sounds coming from the strings. Feel: it takes a bit to get use to not having the body to use to balance to get a proper grip on the neck where you are not using your thumb takes a little getting use to but also not having anything in the way is interesting, you can play all over the thing without anything in the way… Only real issue I have is the string spacing at the bridge is a little tight.. it's similar to a Kay S-51 Chubby Jackson model, so you have to adjust your arco technique a little. One thing I am finding is really dark strings don't bow as well as brighter ones at least for your low strings, I have old spirocores right now on the B and E and they sound awesome where they always sounded scratchy on my acoustic bass.. I'm still mucking with strings though.. So far I am loving this thing.monkeydancer wrote:Sweet! How is it (feel, sound etc) compared to an acoustic?
as much as any other solid body instrument does...JonnyAngle wrote:Does it make ANY sound acoustically?
I was happy when the demo started, but then you pulled out the bow.Mudfuzz wrote:Fine… here is a shitty phone recorded to tide you guys and shit https://soundcloud.com/grindingmass/ns-bass-tester
