Orange Dual Terror taming my fuzzes?

I recently got a Dual Terror and a 2x10 cab, but I'm finding it hard to get huge fuzz sounds without setting the amp to dirty or stacking pedals.
I got this amp because it was the best deal for a 30w valve amp and I really like 2x10 for guitar. Yeah, a low-end current production Orange isn't gonna be the best amp in the world, and Orange has rep regarding pedal-friendliness but... this isn't what I expected.
Am I doing something wrong with it? Is it just not a fuzz-friendly amp?

No shape knob on the DT, but that's pretty much where I've been setting it. In fact, I've just been maxing out the volume and power switches and using the gain to control volume. Probably makes a difference that I've not got to play it at gigging volume yet, so idk what it'll be like in that context.
I've mostly been using the fat channel and I actually really like the clean-ish sounds, thumpy and fat.

How does the tone/shape control work? Is it more of a lpf or does it boost bass/treble depending on which direction you turn it?
Edit: googled it, found the answer

I'm not in a rush to do anything like that but, it would make much more sense to me than an lpf.
I like the Orange but I've been playing through a Selmer T&B combo w/ vintage greenbacks this past week and I think it's spoiled me.

I've come to the conclusion that the fat channel just doesn't sound great. The TT sounds better most - if not all - of the time, and suits fuzzes better.
