so....remember i bought that deluxe blackout tele?
well i loved it, seriously beastly guitar

well i have a friend who just started playing guitar, his brother had a '56 reissue epi paul (gold top? p90s? DAAAYYYUUMM) so he was playing on that guy. well his brother decided he wanted it back so my friend was left guitarless
he loved the tele

i gave it to him with the promise that he'd pay me the $300 i paid for it

in most cases this wouldve been ok as i know and trust most all my friends
but i met this guy a week ago, we just clicked really well i guess....


we'll see, i know where he lives lol

I did the same thing with a wah pedal, and the friend gave me a small stone later down the line.

I'd say you are a good friend. That is a very cool thing you did and I suspect that this will work out well in the end - even if not directly with this guy, than in a cosmic sense (I'm not a big karma guy, but acts that this are so great and tend to lead to good stuff heading back your way).

Do you know where he lives? If so, then it's a good deal since you can go and find him if he tries to fuck things up.

Just make sure he takes care of it. I let a friend of mine borrow a Teisco guitar I received as a birthday gift from an ex-girlfriend and then when I went to get it back and give it a nice shining up and such, it was in his trunk under a bunch of steel chairs.
