So I've gone full-on multi-fx crazy...

Added a GT-100 to my pile of stuff.
Irony alert: I had all of the sounds included with the GT-100 in the GT-001. My patches transferred over seamlessly.
Now I can use two of them in series or parallel while recording.
Gods help my soul.
I got a sucker deal from Alto Music - 350 shipped for a minty one, except...it wasn't minty.
It was NIB, current production, v2 of the operating system installed (2.03 current version, didn't have to update a damn thing)
There's a $100 rebate active right now from Roland as well. I may end up having gotten the thing for half price of the market, and if not.. still $50 below what a new one after rebate would have been.
And pro tip for anyone looking to run two of these on the same device with USB midi control - you can clone the Tone Studio app on PC by changing the Adobe Air App Number of the installed one and run two or more at once.

So over the 001 the 100 adds the pedalboard, an effects loop, and 5-pin MiDI, and that's all, right? Hmm. Some of those extras could be cool, but that bugger is huge by comparison.

People are going to eventually catch on to what can be done with a 001. To think these things are $300 new and $200 used...

Yeah, and the used/overstock 100s aren't much more than that.
I wanted something that was a little more future proof (even though the 001 is usable without an interface, it's nowhere near as as pleasant to work with. That and I wanted 4 channels worth of fun!

I use mine to route audio through pure data to amp up the fx power 1000x. Unfortunately BOSS doesn't believe in Linux, so I have to live with higher-latency Windows.

There's some linux control options for the 100 but the same editor for the 001 is dismal.
Routing audio, I just run the outs to my 16 channel interface and call it good!

eyyy is there any 'tone suck' when it's in bypass? any worry about smashing through those little square buttons? I never saw the gt-001 as pedal board friendly..I'm getting gas

I have no problem with it sitting in my chain, but I'm no golden-eared toan chaser. There are some hoops one has to jump through to make it worthwhile to use, though. Menu diving for days. You absolutely have to have an external 2 button footswitch (which can be programmed to do nearly anything on a per-patch basis), which means you can't use an expression pedal. Also, there's no convenient way to put the unit in bypass without sacrificing footswitch functionality, so you'll likely want another pedal to handle that. I'm planning on picking up an LS-2 for this, eventually.
I'm the kind of person that's willing to put up with a lot of crap to fit this on my board, because the control it offers at its price point is unreal.

Yea, if you're wanting obsessive control, get a 100.

I forgot that was a thing. Dropped my Windows latency down to 5ms. Nice.

Concept art that never got past the proto stage.

This pedal sounds bad ass. It's 199 on Reverb right now.
Love how much you can customize it.

The 001 is not pedalboard friendly; it's pedalboard-able.
