Anyone own a cab from either company? How do you like it? I'd be ordering an empty cab to cut down on shipping costs.
Looking to get a 6x10 and would like to know who has the better build and wont fall apart on the road.
I know Tyrant is someone from Emperor, hopefully someone from the better side of Emperor.

I recently picked up a Tyrant 4x12 and I really like it so far. I haven't had a chance to play it in a very big room because we practice in a garage or an extra bedroom but it sounds great. I had an emperor for a while and this cab is definitely heavier but not as heavy as an orange cab so I would say its pretty sturdy and would hold up well on the road. Also it doesn't vibrate my head around like an orange cab or the emperor, which I like a lot. I have no experience at all with Monarch cabs so I can't say anything about that other than they look cool.

what did they use for feet on your Tyrant cab?

Yes, Tyrant is the better half of Emperor. Actually have a 50 watt amp coming my way from him after over a year of going back and forth. Heard Earthless live using his amp and can and it sounded awesome.

I can't vouch for Tyrant cabs from any personal experience playing them, but as far as customer service and personal integrity goes, this guy is the man. I bought an unloaded Orange cab from him off craigslist and it just turned out I was picking it up in the Tyrant workshop.

I saw tons of cabinets in various stages of development lying around and posters from doom shows lining the walls and I was just like "so uh... this joint ever have anything to do with Emperor?" He told me all about the shit show that company ended up being and how he carried the weight as it all fell apart and decided to start his own thing from the ground up. He didn't complain, he just stated facts and talked about the way things went and the way he does things now. He hooked me up with some mounting hardware and drove me home and we talked for a little while.

Based on my conversations with him, I can at least tell you that he is 100% on his shit and knows exactly what he's doing business-wise, and is operating as independently as possible to keep history from repeating itself. I also really get the impression that he builds the kind of shit that he wants to use. I'm a pretty harsh judge of character, and in my eyes he's a stand up guy, and at the very least, a pleasure to do business with.

Shipping for cabs is usually based on how big they are rather than how much they weigh. Once you get over a certain package volume weight is less of an issue unless its super high. In other words, I wouldn't let shipping cost dictate whether you get a loaded or unloaded cab.

I am super glad they didn't stick with "Dictator" cabs.
