What's the best way for shipping 65lb+ combo amps? Seems like it will easily cost over $100 I'd imagine. As far as packaging, any tips? Noone buys gear in Arkansas so online sales are the only option unfortunately....

If you already have a buyer, check if there are any amtrak trains or buses that run your route. Some of them will ship station to station for pretty cheap. For like home to home shipping, I've got no useful advice.

I think generally UPS or Fedex is cheaper than USPS for large things like amps. Print a label from home using an account set up with either, every time I tried to just drop something off at a UPS or Fedex place to get it shipped the store would try to charge ridiculous amounts compared to a personal account (like 180 bucks for a Marshall head, 200 bucks for a bike frame).

Take out the tubes, wrap separately and VERY well. Make sure everything's tight like it should be (TWSS).

Pack *very* well. I'd double-box.

Pay for insurance. Although it'll be expensive, have a UPS store or equivalent pack it, save the receipt.

In the event of damage, your packing job will be blamed every time.

FedEx charged $95 to ship a Peavey 6505+ combo back to sweetwater in Indiana from Nevada.

I shipped a 2x12 once and I will never do it again despite the fact that nothing went wrong at all.

Exactly, i've come to perfect pace with keeping it. I won't find a better amp and selling it just to pay for some BS ticket is pointless, would rather be wanted in the state of Louisiana. Just in a bit of a moved, still havn't found steady work, then getting harassed by 2 bored 70+ y/o good 'ol boy fucker cops funk.
