Anyone fuck with a Keeley Nova Wah?

I've been thinking about getting some kind of cocked wah pedal to take the place of my wah, since that's all I've been using it for. The EHX Cock Fight could do the trick I guess, but... The Keeley Nova Wah retails for $200+ but used they seem to go for much closer to $100. A whole lot of "$129.00 Best offer accepted " on sold ebay listings. Anyone know of a reason they drop so low?

I've always wanted to fuck with a Nova Wah, but never have.
I've always had other pedals that pretty much can do something similar.
Obviously, I be diggin' that purple:
I can't imagine it sounds bad. Probably worth it if you're interested in tryin' it out. I don't think for around $100 you can really go that wrong.
(For what it's worth, I'd only get an older one of these. Like the one above. Not one with any of the newer graphics.

)

I've used the Keeley 30ms ADT and the Magnetic Echo. I think some of their combo pedals are absolute steals on the used market. (Dyantrem's reverb + trem, Vibe-O-Verb's modulation + verb)
No experience with the Nova Wah, but I've never had any issues with their build quality. I met Atlee, one of their office guys, at a NAMM party and he was really pleasant to chat with, so I've had only positive experiences with them in general.

To touch on this, that's really not uncommon for many pedals if you look at the industry as a whole. (129 represents a 35% used discount) I think sometimes, though, you can look at a brand like Strymon and see people paying >90% of retail for used items and it skews things.
I could point to a company like EQD. They're revered and considered an innovative company, but many of their pedals sell for 30-40% off on the used market, despite being in near-perfect condition. I think a big part of that is sheer numbers and how readily available they are.
An offer gets accepted and repeated and that sets a precedent, which others will follow. In a small, niche industry, sometimes even one sale can determine an item's perceived worth for months or even years to follow.

Yeah, the purps are ugly but inoffensive while the newer surfy-looking orange ones are garbage city.

I know you've got your eyes on the Nova, but have you considered an Ibanez WD7? It's a wah that's got a big switch on the side, and you pick either clicking that switch to engage the wah, or simply stepping on it (Morley style). That way you've got a wah that you can set up for cocked wah by stomping the switch but still have the rocker as well. It's a big pedal, though.

My issues are that I have to be size and budget conscious. My criteria for pedals these days is "it's gotta be small and somewhere around a hundred dollars".

Which is one of the main reason I've shelved my treadle-based wah (a small-batch Vox clone) for the time being - too fucking big. The
Keeley isn't exactly small either though! A Q Zone would be ideal but currently well out of my price range (FUCK JIM DUNLOP). Other parked wah options that I've found include:
Daredevil Atomic Cock ($180ish)
EHX Cock Fight ($100 but too ugly to live)
Magnetic Effects Double Feature ($180)
Wilson Parked Wah ($145 but once again HUGE fucking enclosure)

What about those tiny AMT wahs?

I love that AMT shit! Why is this one called a Japanese Girl though? wtf?

I want to get one of those for an expression or volume pedal at some point, but I'm trying to get away from classic, treadle style wah, since I really only have been using mine for the cocked sound for well over a year. That being the whole point of this quest.

Seems like you're depriving yourself the opportunity to cock a Japanese Girl to me.

I'm having an alternative theory at the moment: perhaps I don't need any sort of wah at all and I should buy more fuzz. That's probably the problem.

I've got one of these. it's pretty nice. Fuzz is very smooth. the pedal sounds great, but there're a few things I would've changed about it. Can't control the volume of the wah. Would've been very useful. Not really a problem when using it with the fuzz, but there can be an inbalance between the two. Sometimes I just wanna use the wah alone. I also would've liked to be able to plug in an expression pedal so I can sweep the wah. I asked Christian about these and he said it would've added too much cost. Fair enough, but it would've made it a much better pedal.

Shit, ugly can be fixed easily. just throw a sticker on it or something, or take a wire brush and rub the graphic off. If it solves your problem... then problem solved, right?
