Knas Moisturizer

So there was a lot of talk around here circa 2011-2012 about the Moisturizer. Just curious how sentiments have held up. I'm mainly considering one as my main reverb for recording/mixing, drum machines, guitars, keyboards. Also it being able to do its own thing is a definite positive.

I had one for a minute a few years back, in retrospect I should have kept it. The reverb was pretty great, but the filter was phenomenal.

That's what I'm hoping! Come for the reverb, stay for the filter :joy: :omg:

I too can verify it's magical. I've had mine for a few months now. I didn't expect to get much use out of the filter but it's so good. The reverb is fantastic but obviously you gotta be careful about bumping it (unless that's what you want to do in which case it's a blast). Im planning on doing some of the mods soon.

Knas has a fully Modded one right now for $550.... hmmm

Let me know if you decide to sell as I won't be pulling the trigger on a new one for a week or two!

I had one around 2011, but found it fairly limiting. I'd just punch out some hypnotic, minimalistic line and snap the spring to get an aggressive, metallic splattering. I would say that it's better for manipulating loops than live usage. For the money, I just didn't see it as something with a great deal of everyday value to me. I've never regretted parting with mine, even though it was something I appreciated. It was more of a novelty to me, than a must-have.

Still deciding between this and a Silverface Fender Tank.

Have any of you that have/had it, have you been able to compare the reverb with other spring verbs?

Or perhaps hooked a different tank into it, I know you wouldn't be able to play the springs, but could make it more usable live.

Are you saying I'd be disappointed if I wanted it solely as a reverb, or you think I would be disappointed if I wanted it to additionally be used as a reverb unit for mixing?

As for live, I'd mainly be running a 4 track recorder through it along with mt CT5 for loop mangling.

Thanks, yea that's far more tempting..... $390 vs $550+ shipping for the Modded unit. I could mod it, but no work space set up quite yet... I havn't looked at the mods bit surely they are easier than $160+20 shipping or w/e.

$386 leaves enough wiggle room for a big ol Accutronics tank to try with it as well.
