Recommend stuff like Heavy Rocks, the orange one.

Punkish stoner stuff that is not at 30 bpm.

I'm not much into Stoner stuff besides Harvey Milk, Electric Wizard, Floor, Black Sabbath, Melvins and obviously Boris. Most of these are way too fucking slow to listen on a normal mood and I can't stop saying that Heavy Rocks by Boris is the absolute masterpiece of the rock genre.

So I'm just wondering if there is something in the same vein, no pun intended.

Thx!

Why you no Fu ManChu?

Orange Goblin?

Corrosion of Conformity (Pep era)?

Eternal Elysium's Spiritualised D?

Elder?

Ancient Warlocks?

This could be a very long list.

Agreed, beyond the aforementioned and off the top: Nebula, Lowrider, Iron Monkey, Scissorfight, The Atomic Bitchwax, Karma to Burn, Dozer, Fireball Ministry, Wo Fat, Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell, Conan, Earthride, Doomriders, Black Cobra, Novadriver, Sasquatch...

Also Torche maybe? The first Mutoid Man LP, too. I think you'd really like that one if you like Orange Heavy Rocks/Pink etc:

Kyuss is the obvious pick for me. I got into Boris circa 2006 with the release of Pink and went through their discog chronologically after that, and when I got to Heavy Rocks, I stalled for a long time. TBH, "Korosu" is my favourite Boris song, other than maybe "Farewell" off of Pink. So anyway, in high school I'd been heavily into QOTSA and I decided to give Kyuss a try (based on my admiration for QOTSA and Boris) and Blues for the Red Sun just clicked. I listened mostly to Heavy Rocks and BFTRS for a good half a year there, early 2007.

TL;DR

It sort of stands to reason that if he says I don't like normal stonerish stuff he probs doesn't like Kyuss brah.

True! I'm just giving him what makes sense to me... it sounds like Heavy Rocks to me. Rather has the same vibe.

Another rec for Elder. I think I listened to Lore more than any other record last year.

I've just listened that... it was good, but not exactly what I'm looking, needs more rock&roll.

Oh and the screamo Elder band is fucking good too, side project of people from Balboa IIRC.

Every Elder record is a winner.
For more straight up rock go check their ST or Spires Burn.

Lore slays, either way.

Pretty sure it's not as good as DRS though.
