can you think of any? i don't think i can.
i just need it for two overdubs (and, really, it's something that could be done 'in the box' while mixing)...

LAL 86. You can sort of do it in some settings of the 88 as well.

The akai shred o matic could do it, and had its own built in exp control.
Moog MF boost?
And can't most of the Source Audio stuff be stuff up to control most/any parameters via exp?
Bitquest?

B:Assmaster is available with a factory mod for exp control of sensitivity

Yep. Stack it into an overdrive. Mix 0% wet. Set the overdrive with the sound where you want gain at 0. Then set the elements at 100% wet and tune it to get your max gain.
Works perfectly. I do this on my gig board. Used to use an elements, but now I'm using a frazz to do the same thing, just to change things up. The nice thing is you can set it so that you don't get a volume boost, just a distortion boost by having the distorted sound at less than unity. The clean is always at unity. So you can get more distorted without having to get louder. Or you can get massively louder.

It's one of my favorite features on my old Experimentalists Anonymous Parallel Universe. Goes from a nice overdrive to a nasty fuzz. It makes for really fun crescendos.
I also had Dirge build a Rat with expression control over gain.

Aren't there some wah/fuzz pedals that do this kind of thing?
I believe it's pretty easy to DIY on any circuit by using a switching jack but I don't actually know what I'm talking about.
None of that helps you for your overdubs. Sorry.

Fuck, what a good idea. Might have to steal this one...

Yeah for real. I was thinking it would be tough to do without a volume boost but thats perfect.
Now let's see it in a pedal that costs about half that haha

Not super sexy but it's there.

The line 6 m series. You can set the tread to control gain and volume so as the gain goes up the volume can go down. That way you don't have to deal with big volume jumps.

If you want a more affordable solution ($120), check out the Micro Fuzzmonger from Synthmonger. Here is the description from the website:
The Micro Fuzzmonger V2 is an upgraded version of the Micro Fuzzmonger. It has more fuzz and gain and better compressor for control over the sustain.
The expression input can control either the Fuzz or the Gain through a mini switch accessible on the back of the pedal.

The Elements for sure. It's fucking amazing with expression. Thank you for reminding me btw, I need to add the expression jack to mine. Ryan left it open so I could and it's been sitting waiting for it for a year or more now. LOL!!
I have a dual though. That's why.
I can't recommend that pedal enough on guitar or bass.

That's what multis are for!
Control anything with expression, LFO, etc, with automation as well.
I have some extremely, extremely abusive assigns set up in my Boss GT-001/100.
