Hi hi.

Can you help me put into words the thoughts I'm having about a specific A/B switcher device?

I have two amps that I use, and they're both connected to an A/B box that I have. It's a Morley that has two switches:

Right switch is A or B

Left switch is A and B


So the right switch goes back and forth between A and B of course. And then when I hit the left switch, it adds either A or B depending on which one I'm using in the first place.

LORD do I get confused in the heat of the moment when I'm on stage and I want a specific amp or both or whatever.

So what I'd like is an "A/B" switcher that has independent control, but I'm having trouble putting that into words, trying to find it on different switcher-maker sites like Loopmaster, etc.

Is there an A/B switcher that can have a switch on the left that is simply ON/OFF for A and a switch on the right that is ON/OFF for B? And I can have them close enough where I can turn both of them on and off at the same time.

Cool thanks. I don't know why that's so hard for me to find on something like Loop-Master or wherever. I'd like one that's smaller than those two, thought the MXR one is really sleek.

Loop-Master and American Loopers have every fathomable combination except for ones like these.

But hmmm:

Theoretically, could I use my two loop true bypass looper for this very purpose? Like I could have loop 1 go out to my first amp via send 1 and loop 2 go out to my second amp via send 2, and then just skip the returns on both? Not sure if that will affect the overall signals or what. Kinda not really the way you would use one but I think it's the same idea.

That would work except you would only be able to do a or b, not a+b.

I use that MXR with my two-amp setup, and it does the job beautifully.

How about the size? How big is it compared to a standard sized enclosure (which is what a 1590B?)?

Ha. Thanks. I JUUUUUST understood this. I kept thinking "WHY WOULDN'T IT WORK" but if the signal was going out from A or B it would be "trapped" in A or B and I couldn't do both. Got it.



Lord I wish there was a smaller version of that MXR one.

I use an ehx switchblade+ to do exactly what you described

Yup, two independent switches you can turn on/off individually. So you could have A+B going, A going alone, B going alone, or both turned off.

It's a smidge smaller than two 1590Bs flush against each other, which is pretty much perfect for me - that's the tightest my clumsy feet can handle in live situations.
