Woah. That is a serious guitar. I didn't even know they came with that ornament or those knobs.

All the specs are '58 except the aluminum. Plastic binding does not a '58 make.

binding, or inlays, or acoutrements.

which is totally cool! but i can't imagine the corksniffers who insist they know the chemical whatevers of *Gibson finishes and how much it affects the tone on any given day (And How It'll Age) would let that go!

but a cool guitar is a cool guitar!

*like insisting that Gibson has been using plasticisers since whatever year and "new" (meaning since like, 2000? or 2006 or 1995 or whatever depending on who you talk to) won't check.... I have a 2013 that is already checking and even has a couple flake offs, exposing the maple top!

 no I totally get what you're saying.... Definitely not for the cork sniffing crowd. I saw a post about it on the MLP forum and it was getting bashed for that reason.

man, MLP is one of the most poisonous forums I've seen on the web short of gamergate/MRA nonsense. totally mean spirited dad rockers, god forbid you have anything other than a totally vintage-correct 1959 - and the further away you get from that, the more condescension you'll get. with 95% heard it through the grapevine info... like, according to them new Gibsons won't check, but my goldtop aged like 30 years overnight. It was a wintry Minnesota night, but the way they talk about accursed plasticizers in the nitro finish, my LP should be pristine until I'm buried with it.

and god forbid you relic your stuff, to the tune of the peanut gallery of dad dudes saying variations on it "why don't you play it for 20 years lol would you pay for a relic'd car I THINK NOT." and in the next breath they'll complain about kids these days and their music not doing anything new. ugh.

although i did get my faber ABR-1 bridge based on their recommendation and couldn't be happier.
