I really want a short stuttery loop type effect instead of my CT5 I think. It's a rad pedal but way too pretty for what I'm doing. What are the differences in the PDS series? The 2000 or 1002 seems to do what I want with the DD3 like hold+actual loops? The Raptio just looks really fun and instantaneous and I have no clue how the Revolver works but demos sound rad.

Also wondering if a PS3 and a raptio would settle my need for weird pitch stuff and stutter...

I have a Raptio and will have a Revolver (hopefully) this week. I bought the Revolver specifically to see if I like it more than the Raptio. I'll definitely post my thoughts on it when I've had a chance to play with it. I will say that the Raptio is in my top 5 pedals of all time, so it will be hard to beat, I think. It's just so simple and sounds so good. I have a lot of 'complex' pedals on my board, so it's nice to have something that just works well pretty much no matter what.

Something that just works no matter what is exactly what I need. My band is really spastic and as much as tones of tones are great for recording, I need like 6 things for live and they need to be simple and repeatable to an extent.

The Raptio has the one really good trick and its easy to set it for what you want. I think they're a bit easier to get and less than half the price of a Revolver which is a major plus. If you just want a stutter at consistent speeds then it is perfect. I use one on each of my live boards for that effect. The Revolver is much much deeper and allows you to have control over more aspects of the effect. If you want a different time or speed or length every time then it is fantastic. You can also recall the last sample which is super cool. I think the Raptio will work for what you want. If you have the cash and patience, the Revolver is deeper.

sweet, I was leaning that way anyways I think. Is the freeze function useable? Or is it just there.

I use the freeze function a bit. It's pretty harsh compared to, let's say, the EHX Freeze. But if you keep the mix low, it lovely. Tweaking the 'main knob' when freezed pushes it out of phase, which is a lot of fun subtle changes. We have a song we play live which is basically me freezing a chord and tweaking that knob and whatever pedals I have running after it. Fun!

Well there you go. Its a great pedal all around. I toss it in all over the place. It actually makes a very cool alternative to tremolo picking high leads too.

You should just buy a Bitquest.

Don't overlook the DD6. The length of the loop is how long you your foot down, i.e a quick tap=stutter! Very cool and useful.
