I have a Squier vm jaguar that I'm looking to modify / bastardize.

Right now I'm looking at putting a jazzmaster pickup in the neck position, curtis novak sells ones for a jag that doesn't require any body routing, and a JB jr in the neck.

I want to swap out the neck for looks/fun and ideally I'd like something a little thinner or slightly less wide if possible..
I was looking at these because they were cheap and got good reviews, the whole "reliced" thing isn't really my bag but w/e. https://reverb.com/item/1277774-jaguar- ... ood-guitar.

I know I'd be putting a lot of money into a cheap guitar (got for $100 off cl), but the way I look at it I just bought the body and some basic hardware and I'm building the rest of it. I use the trem a lot and have no issues with it, same with the bridge, switching, etc..

If anyone has any experience, encouragement, horror stories with any of the described above please shout out

Easy enough things to do with a Jaguar (I did these on my Fender Japan one) :

- shield the pickups/controls cavities with copper tape
- replace the bridge with a Mustang one (this works better if the radius of the Mustang bridge is the same as the neck, might not be the case for you)
- wire the boittom switches to have both pickups in series when the two switches are down
- rewire the strangle switch to be a pickup phase switch

Parallel/series options on Jag's and Jazzy's sound great....

Anyone here replace the pickups with Filtertrons? Considering this myself.
