I'm into a pretty wide variaty of styles/projects/jams, but I'd like to keep my board as small and convenient and no-frills as possible. Plus, I can't afford just any pedal out there that seems cool. That's fine though, boss/mxr/ehx/dunlop/etc hasn't let me down so far, so...

Anyway, I'd like one and the same board for both bass and guitar, for stuff that I'd describe like this:

-Slow low heavey pseudy-brootz sludge doom.
-intrumental postrock/mathcore
-wanky indie poprockshit
-minimalistic washy ambient drones/noise

Here's where I am so far, in no particular order:

Freeze
ES-2 delay
FZ-2
Maxon D&S
Afterneath
Hotcake
DOD FX20 phaser

-Replace freeze with superego for teh drones
-Stick with the dirt peds, they do the job just fine
-Get an EQD Avalanche Run (one delay pedlol is NOT enough) instead of the afterneath (a little too trippy to sound like an actual reverb pedal).
-EHX Pitchfork: Octave down for guitar, octave up for bass, add fuzz...good times
-Add a CE-2 (damn do I regret selling my old one). Alternative for deep wobbly analog goodness would be welcome. Small footprint is a must though.

My current dirt arsenal might seem a bit bare bones compared to most booteek-y boards around here, but stacking em in different ways and messing my the controls gives me plenty of different nice chades of filth, I have zero gas for something else at the moment.
Having just one delay pedal sucks balls though. If my budget and/or board size turns out being too small for the Avalanche Run, I might go with a Dispatch Master or a good old Boss RV-3.

So I'm basically looking for more ideas. Anyone willing to share board pics of small-ish boards that serve multiple purposes: I'd appreciate it. Suggestions for small or 2in1 pedals that might work for me: Bring it on. Cheers.

Honestly what you describe sounds pretty perfect. Standard ILF answer but a Bitquest would add a ton of utility for sure. RV3 is the best for compact reverb and delay and the Avalanche Run looks awesome as an all in one sorta deal as well.

Small, all-in-one, top jacks, made by one of the awesomest companies out there...Now it's just a matter of scoring one with a sweet paint job

I'm not really into bit crushing or ring modulation or anything, but all the other modes would be nice to have in one package, I doubt I'll need one of those effects atthe same time anyway. One thing though: Where would you place it in your chain? I typically run my board pretty conservative. Dirt > modulation > delay/reverb > dirt.

Anyways, this can turn into a sneeky reverse spam thread as far as I'm concerned. Anyone selling a bitquest, preferably european fellow forumites: PM me, I might have something to trade.

Bitquest is a good suggestion, but just to make it interesting we could discuss other options

I feel like we play exactly the same kinda music, and I'd say that the ES-2 can get smeary enough for the ambients, so add a PS-3. Delay+pitch shifting in a cool way. I'd switch the afterneath for a different reverb, maybe an RV-3 or an RRR. Personally I'd change the phaser for a trem, but that's just taste anyways. And you gain section looks sweet

Get an RV-3, but don't do it for the delay. If you want the delay/reverb thing in one pedal get a dispatch master.

So basically get an RV-3 and a dispatch master.

Yeah, I've been thinking about snagging a PS-3 for the longest time. I'm actually a big fan of Boss digital delays. I read the tracking of the PS2/3 isn't as good as on the current ehx offerings though

I'm leaning towards the bitquest, but I'm not ruling out other options just yet. I still like the idea of a full blown reverb/delay thing, like the Avalanche Run (big, pricey), or maybe just an RV-3. Kinda worried the bitquest is mostly a noise/glitch machine, and does 'okay' at the particular effects I'm looking for.

The afterneath is all kinds of awesome, but I often miss being able to dial in a pseudo plate reverb effect :s
Too many delay+reverb options out there to go with a seperate reverb though, gotto keep my budget and real estate limitations in check

I'm not big on tremelo, and I'm more than fine with my AC15C2's on board tremelo. It's not my main amp, and the tremelo isn't extreme or exceptional or anything, but for what I use it for it's just perfect, and it saves a little board space for something else
