European Touring Advice

I have a sweet European tour coming up. Ive never been to Europe or toured outside of North America before, so I have some questions! Most of the dates are in Germany, but I'll also be in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy, and Switzerland.

1. Has anyone flown with cymbals that they did not need to check? United (my flight) does allow instruments as a separate carry on, but a cymbal case is going to be way too big for overheads or under a seat. I've read about people putting them in a coat/garment bag closet, but I'm currently struggling to find out if my flight even has such a closet.

2. Necessary things to bring? Aside from basic toiletries, clothing and an outlet converter, what else should I bring? Is there anything that will be cheaper over there? Will I be able to wear shorts?!

3. Cool shit to check out? Where's all the cool shit at?

Yeah, what's your band? When and where do you play in Czech Rep?

Band is "Spill", we'll be on tour with Old Flings. I think my favorite description of our music is "gay and bad" https://brokenworldmedia.bandcamp.com/album/spill.

So I spoke a bit too soon; the Czech date is the only one left unconfirmed at this point, but the itinerary lists Prague as pending for May 20th.

Totally forgot to mention dates are 5/12-5/28.

not sure I'll be able to make it to prague on 20th though but when you know more, post here please... might try :)

PS: it's been a pretty shorts-friendly weather these last two days... at least here in CZ

This isn't "gay and bad" at all. False advertising. :thumb:

I'd go for "Weezer if they didn't get shitty" instead.
