I've never heard about digital printing on pedals... Is it any good? Always thought it had to be screen.
What are the differences? Pros and cons?? :idk:

Screen is more durable and fade resistant finish which may not matter with pedals. Not like they spend that much time in the sunlight.
Digital: Images can have finer detail.

What echo said^
Idk if it's the artwork for the ones I've seen or what, but I think digital tends to look ugly

I know there are players that beef with manufacturers over graphics fading in the sun at outdoor venues. Mostly the problems were with temprature failure of adhesive on pcb standoffs. If you never leave home then no worries. Personally i love etching with enamel and i love epoxy silkscreen but i went cheap and used screen printed stickers. At least it was water resistant.

The latest bitquest is digital printed.

It's a great finish.

Hit up Ryan to find out more about the differences between that and his previous finishes. :thumb:

UV digital printing can look very awesome. I have no idea if holds up to direct exposure to the surface of the sun or if it is football hooligan resistant, but the handful of boxes I've had printed have looked very good.

McSpunckle used to do digital, and then shellacked the hell out of them with some kind of special eco-friendly boat epoxy. That was a really cool approach (though maybe labor-intensive).

My recent fumblings with epoxy have shown me how great a job he did on those.

But if anyone wants to try that stuff out, here's a popular epoxy http://www.artresin.com/

What to do with drips down the side is a point that particularly sticks in your craw. McSpunckle used a belt sander to achieve a sweet brushed look on the side panels.

I also ran into trouble with little tiny dust pieces, and bubbles. Bubbles because it was like 50 or 60 degrees in my place, too cold, and lint, probably because I used a heat gun to try to get rid of the bubbles and it blew lint into the epoxy.
