Yeah I think that one might have won the year already (unlike, say, Black Star as BROTY 2016edish)

I don't see why that last one is bad!
You don't enjoy going to shows where everybody is 100% as turnt as you are?
You probably don't even get turnt
You probably just stand in the back nodding with your smirky, lobsterman friends

at least he's not "headphoning" albums at a glacier lake

witnessing a nearly-30 white dude use 'turnt' w/r/t a shitty Santa Monica emo band and trumpeting the new Yeezy record while in nearly the same breath feeling it's 'unfair' that he's being held accountable for being unaware of the origins of 'urban radio' is a pretty good encapsulation of why that's funny. i.e. It does a very nice job of encapsulating your Spark Notes relationship to music and culture.

It was the Hudson fucking Bay!
Cower before the history in that water. Also, headphoning albums is very important.

I can actually picture Dos as this. Maybe a beer in hand as well. Talking about how their Portland is best Portland, and how all the noise bands today sound like Jesus Lizard rip-offs.
Maybe, just maybe, he's muttering "You damn kids these days" under his breath as well. Not at anything in particular, just at the cloud in the sky.

I need to clarify that no shade thrown was thrown at lobstermen. My fam only live a couple hundred miles of coastline from D.o.S. and all three of my brothers are very smirky, drug-addled lobstermen.
Portland is the best Portland.
Last time I was there I caught Mumford & Sons and Thee Silver Mt. Zion Orchestra, both tight AF. Had a shitton of cheap, good beer, too.

TFW case and I were at the same Silver Mt. Zion show.

There's no face because it doesn't actually matter. That show was sick, though.
Incidentally you can hear a recording/download of their set here:

Hey sometimes I stand in the front and nod, too.

It was not. Silver Mt. Zion played Space Gallery with no supporting acts on one night. Mumford was one of their self-curated "Gentlemen of the Road" festivals with Haim, The Maccabees, Apache Relay, Dropkick Murphys, St. Vincent, Dawes, etc. I was stoked for St. Vincent but her performance was actually pretty underwhelming, ditto Dropkicks. Dawes stole the show.
Could have caught Yeasayer at State Theatre the next night but unfortch succumbed to dehydration. Ordered Japanese food and proceeded to collapse before eating it.

It's like a fucking episode of
LOST or something
I look forward to the impending plane crash in which we will either live together, or die alone

Like... it's likely we were both doing the same thing. It's not a big venue. I like to think it's possible that our first interaction in life was nodding in the front together
